Great Moments in White People Covering Rap Songs: “Get Low”

One of my all-time favorite examples of a white dude covering a song made famous by a black artist is Obidiah Parker’s wonderful rendition of Outkast’s scintillating classic “Hey Ya”. Though these two songs sound absolutely nothing alike, they have the same lyrics and are equally awesome.

Another great, well-known example of white folks covering a song by black folks is The Gourds’ much acclaimed cover of Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice”.

And until today, I wasn’t sure I’d ever hear another rap cover song by white people that would both entertain and amuse me as much as these two did. Then I saw the video below by Jackson Foote (and his roommates, apparently, via Reddit), which features a cover of the song “Get Low” that was originally made famous by Lil Jon and The East Side Boyz.

Whenever someone makes a list of the greatest moments of white people covering rap songs, this one has to be on it.

Note: The language in these videos is very, very, very profane. So this is not safe for work. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Pretty damn entertaining, huh? Told ya.

And now, for comparison’s sake, here is the original song.

The question is, which one do you like better?
