I'm thinking of dropping Jerome Harrison for Roy Helu. I have Harrison for when Best goes down, but I can't wait forever and I really have no one else to drop. Gore, R Bush, Blount, and Sproles are my other RBs. (0.5 PPR)

  • Mike

    Hi Andy,

With Charles out, would you consider Ryan Mathews a better option than Thomas Jones and McCluster (PPR League)? Also, I have been waiting on the official word… is Charles done for the season for sure?

    Thanks.

  • http://www.midwestsportsfans.com JerodMSF

That seems reasonable to me. Helu could get more playing time even without an injury to the starter. Harrison likely won't. It's tough to see into the future, so go with the guy who is closer to getting start-worthy carries.

  • http://www.midwestsportsfans.com JerodMSF

Yes, he's done. As for Mathews…HELL YES. He shouldn't be available in any leagues. Snatch him up quickly.

Yes, sir! Done that, and thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated! As I was scouring the waiver wire for Charles' replacement I was a bit surprised myself why Mathews is still available.

On a different note I have Wayne, Britt and Harvin as WRs. Any of these sound like a worthy replacement for Harvin to you – Jordy Nelson, Eric Decker, AJ Green?

    Thanks!

  • http://www.midwestsportsfans.com JerodMSF

Boy, depending on the matchup I could make a case for all of those guys over Harvin. That said, Harvin's 7 catch, 76 yard performance in Week 2 was encouraging, and he's got the best combo of talent/experience/role out of all those guys, so I'd stick with him…for now. But if AJ Green has one more explosive game, that could change.

J.Stewart was dropped in my 12 team league R Helu is also available. Who do I use my # 1 waiver on?

  • http://www.midwestsportsfans.com JerodMSF

Personally, I would wait if you have the #1 waiver priority. I'm not bullish on Stewart in Carolina's new pass-happy offense and Helu is still on a Shanahan team, so even if he ends up starting, he could yanked right back. #1 waiver is valuable. I'd wait for better options before using.

I am in a 12 team league. I was going to drop Roy Williams and Sidney Rice and try to pick up Decker or Denarius Moore. Also was thinking of dropping Woodhead and picking either Dexter McCluster or Demarco Murray. I currently have AP, Beanie Wells, McGahee, Tate, and Steven Jackson. WR's are real thin on my team, Mike Wallace, Nate Burrelson, Percy Harvin and the above mentioned Rice and Williams, any thoughts. I have Gates but he hasn't done crap yet..

  • Andy Bottoms

I agree with Jerod, would much rather have Helu of the two at this point, although I share your concern for Best's health.

  • Andy Bottoms

I agree with Jerod, stick with Harvin for now.

  • Andy Bottoms

I think you are pretty set at RB, particularly with today's news on Foster/Tate. I would make a run at both Decker and Moore, which would really help your team.

  • mikeclarke333

    Thanks for the advice!

  • nik

I am tempted to pick up few players to fill some gaps.
Cam Newton for either Big Ben (run based offense not much passing TDs) or J Cutler (interception magnet)
Miles Austin is injured, but I can swing with Steve Smith (Car) until he recovers or if Cowgirls actually let him play (i doubt that)
Knowshawn Moreno for Wills McGahee, Roy Helu,Dexter McCluster
Jimmy Graham and Pettigrew for Jermain G or Scott Chandler (has TD's in mostly all but 1 game i think)

I have B.Marshall, Vinny J, Smiles Austin and Steve Smith (Car) for my WRs
I have McFadden, Michael Turner, Felix Jones and Knowshean Moreno for my RB's

    Thanks

Why is there a picture of Ed McCaffrey next to Eric Decker?

What are your thoughts on Moreno? Is he worth keeping? Seems a bit injury prone but turned out to be a late starter last year. Would you rather have Ingram?

And what are your thoughts on Addai? Is he worth a flex spot in 10 Team Standard or PPR.

What are your thoughts on Moreno? Too much of an injury risk? He seems to be hurt every year but he does
come around later in the season it seems. Does Ingram have more upside?

Also… is Addai going to be serviceable ROY or should I try to grab McCluster or T-Jones?

  • http://www.midwestsportsfans.com JerodMSF

I would want McCluster over Addai personally. KC has no choice but to start getting him the ball with Charles out and few other options on offense. As for Moreno, I was high on him coming into the season, but he know has to a) get healthy and b) wrestle the starting gig back from McGahee. Sucks, but such is life with Knowshon. I don't think Ingram has more upside though. He's done nothing so far.

  • http://www.midwestsportsfans.com JerodMSF

I understand your thinking, but I'd rather have Ben and Cutler than Newton. I just think that the defenses will eventually catch up with Newton and he'll begin having some tough games. Rookies just don't do what he's doing, and we saw the struggles already start with 3 INTs v GB.

I like Helu and McCluster too, though not enough to drop Felix or Knowshon. If you wanted to drop Knowshon for McGahee, I can see it…but I wouldn't do it yet. I was high on Knowshon before the season and I'm going to overreact to two weeks.

  • eViL-PORCUPINE

    Hi there…

Can you tell me what you think of my team. I've lost 2 weeks in a row although I may have not managed it right by sitting Bears D for 20+ points week 1 and played Lloyd (0) instead of Blount week 2.

    10 Team Standard NFL.com League

    Rivers / Flacco
McCoy / Gore / Ben Tate / Blount
    Boldin / Lloyd / Manningham / P-Burress
    Vernon Davis / Jimmy Graham
    Mason Crosby
    Bears / Lions

I feel like I need one more RB! Anyone you would drop? With the news of Benson's possible suspension i would like to pick him up.

  • eViL-PORCUPINE

    Bernard Scott that is…

  • Andy Bottoms

I like Bernard Scott and would probably drop one of those defenses to pick him up, but I say that as someone who picks up a new defense each week. You are solid at QB, RB, and TE. WR is obviously the weak spot, and it doesn't sound like Manningham will play this week. What WR are out there on the wire?

  • Andy Bottoms

I still believe in Ingram and would rather have him than Moreno, particularly in a non-PPR league. Ingram has had a couple tough matchups, but I think he still has value as the year goes on.

  • Andy Bottoms

I can't see dumping Roethlisberger, but I would at least consider picking up Newton for Cutler. I have soured on Moreno fairly quickly, and I guess if I had to pick one of those three it would be Helu. I think he continues to see more touches in Washington. I would not dump Graham, and I would wait it out with PEttigrew for another week.

  • eViL-PORCUPINE

Eric Decker, Lance Moore, Bess, Gibson and someone just dropped Percy Harvin. Slim pickins'

  • eViL-PORCUPINE

    Oh and Denarius Moore

  • Andy Bottoms

I like Harvin best long term, also like D. Moore although the matchup isn't great for this week

  • jeff

My team is all sorts of screwed due to injuries… im starting shonne greene and MJD at rb… but for my 2 wr and flex who do I play week 3… (julio jones, Nate burrelson, reggie wayne, plaxico, Ingram or devery henderson)… thanks

  • Cathal

    Hi Jerod
Which 3 would you play at WR from Nicks, Bowe, Harvin, Knox and Ward
    At D Saints or Lions?
And as a backup RB is Addai now worthless? Not much available on waivers(Lynch, Grant, JStew, Bush(m) Sproules, T Jones)

    thanks man

    Cathal

  • eViL-PORCUPINE

Are you still talking about picking up Harvin and drop a D? I like Harvin's long term appeal too despite Leslie Frazier's limiting his snaps. I figure he is the best player aside from AP on that team and they will eventually figure that out. I kind of like rotating between the 2 Defenses up until their bye weeks. So would you say to drop Plaxico for Harvin?

  • jeff

daniel thomas is also on the waivers i can grab him

  • Dee

Got Shonne Greene, Ben Tate and Cedric Benson. most likely gonna start Tate. cant decide between Greene and Benson. any advice?? thanks

  • Andy Bottoms

I would lean toward Benson, but both guys are pretty close.

  • Andy Bottoms

I would play Nicks, Bowe and Harvin. They seem to be the best bets to put up stats, even if it's in garbage time as it may be for Bowe and Harvin.
I would go with the Lions D.
I don't think Addai is worthless, but he's getting there. If it's a PPR league, I could see looking at Sproles. Otherwise, I would stand pat for now.

  • Andy Bottoms

I would pick up Harvin and drop a defense. Plax has more value than a backup defense, and I feel like you can play matchups on defense well enough to survive.
