Dan Uggla – 2B – ATL
Dan is in the midst of 28-game hitting streak. Over the past 15 games he was 22-59 (.373) with 6 home runs, 15 RBI’s while raising his average to .220 on the year. On the year he is up to 24 home runs and 55 RBI’s. Thirty-five home runs is not out of sight along with 80 RBI’s. Solid production for a middle infielder.
Jason Kipnis – 2B – CLE
After a slow start since being recalled, Jason has taken flight with 5 home runs, 7 RBI’s, and a stolen base over the past week. Heading into the Sunday night game, Kipnis has a 7-game hitting streak going. Look for his production to continue but not that type of power week to week.
Billy Butler – 1B/DH – KC
Billy has cooled off over the past week but still managed to go 19-59 (.322) with 6 home runs, 19 RBI’s over the past 15 days. Look for Billy to cool off for most of August while still being productive in the power department.
Adam Lind – DH/1B – TOR
Adam has been so streaky lately. Over the past 15 days, Lind is 8-49 (.163) with 1 home run and 5 RBI’s. It’s tough to know which Adam Lind you will get week to week. It’s difficult to start that type of inconsistency in weekly leagues but feel free to deploy him in daily leagues.
Danny Espinosa – 2B – WAS
Over the past 15 days, Danny is 9-56 (.161) with no home runs, no RBI’s 5 BB’s, and 15 strikeouts. His average has dropped down to .228 but will most likely finish the year with .240 average. Look for Espinosa to rebound within the next couple of weeks. Don’t forget he’s got 17 home runs and 12 stolen bases on the year so far.
Eric Thames – OF/DH – TOR
Eric was 1-21 (.048) over the past week with 10 strikeouts and 8-47 (.170) over the past 15 days. Since the arrival of Colby Rasmus, Eric’s production has gone sour. Don’t expect too much out of Thames as he’ll be spliting time with Rajai Davis now too.
