LeBron James should not get all the blame; Heat supporting cast needs to step up in Game 6

Every time that I have turned on ESPN for the past week, I have seen more talk about LeBron’s struggles than I have seen actual analysis of the NBA Finals series.

This infatuation with LeBron is something usually only seen in Cleveland, but ESPN seemingly loves talking about nothing but LeBron’s struggles in the Finals.

The Bottoms Line: College Hoops First Impressions – Big East (Volume II)

I knocked out half of the Big East last week, including Top 25 squads Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, Marquette, and Pittsburgh along with an intriguing Georgetown team.  Even so, there’s still plenty of talent among the other eight teams, including the team ranked highest by most experts and a team with a Top Three recruiting class.

A few thoughts on why instant reply in baseball should be expanded

June 9th, 2011. Cubs v Phillies in Philadelphia. Top of the ninth inning. The Cubs are behind 3-2 when Geovanny Soto hits a homerun to tie the game at 3-3. Then Tyler Colvin stepped up to the plate and swatted what appeared to be another homerun back-to-back with Soto.

Video: LeBron & Dwyane Wade Mock Dirk’s Sinus Infection

Email Post Email Post

Before Game 5, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade decided to have a little fun with Dirk Nowitzki’s reported sinus infection and high body temps before and during Game 4.

It didn’t turn out so well for them after losing Game 5, and Wade getting injured, but here’s the video:

This Is All About The Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks won last night’s Game 5. Again let me repeat that: the Dallas Mavericks won last night’s Game 5 of the 2011 NBA Finals.

In an NBA Finals series that features the much-hated Miami Heat, with their cast that includes of one of the NBA’s best ever trios in LeBron, Wade, and Bosh, any time Miami loses it is projected as being of their own doing. It is a continuing trend of LeBron James had a bad game or Dwyane Wade was injured or Chris Bosh played soft.

So it’s time to give the Mavericks the credit they deserve.

That’s right. She struck out.

Hey, if I’m going to rip Cubs fans at every turn – and I do – I have to be willing to shine the spotlight of mockery on my own fan base from time to time.

In lieu of a lockout update, here is an awesome picture and some video of Rich Eisen running a 40 instead

NFL owners and players are still embroiled in a lockout, and while there have apparently be some not secret “secret” talks over the past few days, my current opinion on the matter is that I don’t give a damn until they come up with a solution and get back to work.

So instead of trying to find lockout links or galvanize any sort of discussion about this tired, irritating topic, I am going to provide something that every NFL fan can appreciate, something that can bring us joy during these lamentable and unfortunate days of labor unrest.

Rich Eisen, running a 40.

One of the myriad ways that the Interwebs complement watching sporting events is the certainty that anything caught on camera that could possibly be construed sexually will be immortalized forever in animated GIF format.

After Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the Interwebs did not disappoint.

LeBron underwhelms (again) in “biggest game of his career”

lebron

I have seen LeBron James play in person just once, during his second season in the league. The Cavs were in town to play my hometown New York Knicks in a matchup of the most exciting young player in the league versus a team that featured Michael Sweetney, Moochie Norris, and Vin Baker. I sat down low around midcourt, craning my neck and standing on my tiptoes to watch LeBron warm up in layup lines. He was enormous, looking more like an NFL linebacker than an NBA forward, and he seemed to have boundless energy and springs for legs.

LeBron played an awful game.
