This past weekend, Diana Klochova contributed a guest post here at MSF in which she interviewed Olivia Manning (mother of Peyton and Eli) during the Febreze Game Day Sports Equipment Drive. Diana is back today with another Super Bowl XLV guest post.
As you may recall, Diana was the winner of the P&G-sponsored Blogger Fantasy Football League* that I participated in this year. Diana’s prize for winning was a trip to the Super Bowl, and she was kind enough to put together a photo diary of her experience at the Big Game yesterday.
Below are the pictures Diana took and her descriptions of them.
10:00am – I receive my Super Bowl XLV tickets. I am happy.
11:30am – We arrive incredibly early at the stadium and learn the true meaning of the phrase “everything is bigger in Texas”. Even at a relatively big distance, Jerry Jones’ monument to the football gods looks ginormous.
3:00pm – Aaron and Troy greet us as we file into the stadium with the rest of the crowd. Security and check-in is relatively painless, given that there are over 100,000 people trying to be in the same place at the same time.
3:45pm – After being rerouted several times, we finally find the way to our seats and stay entertained by the pre-game in-stadium programming.
4:15pm – Warm-ups begin and I take this beautiful photo of the future Super Bowl champs huddling up on the giant, GIANT screen.
5:00pm – The Steelers fans go crazy as their team takes the field. I would say that the Packer/Steeler fan split was about 50/50, but the Pittsburgh fans were about 10 times louder. C’mon cheeseheads, where were you at all night!!??
5:05pm – The future Super Bowl MVP looks on from above as his team takes the field.
6:30pm – The Black Eyed Peas let us know that tonight’s going to be a good night…though I’m sure the Steelers would disagree.
6:50pm – Then they ask us to help them find the love. We also get to participate in the show by waving around glowsticks. Amazing that no one used them as projectile weapons.
8:45pm – That blinding white light? That’s the field at the end of the tunnel – confetti raining down and media swarming Packers players. I’m clearly an awful photographer, so you’ll just have to trust me on that.
8:46pm – Media members wait in line to get into the locker room for post game interviews. At 8:47pm I was kicked out of the line, where I apparently wasn’t allowed to be. Whoops! So much for all the Packers-in-nothing-but-a-towel photos I was hoping to take and share with you.
8:55pm – What do you do after you win the Super Bowl? Track down the half-time act for photos, of course.
9:10pm – I sneak back to the locker room entrance. Matt Flynn is chatting it up with some reporters like they’re his uncles. Incredible to see the relationships the media members can develop with the players.
9:20pm – I finally find the interview room where I am supposed to be. Clay Matthews, AJ Hawk, and several others sit at separate podiums, each surrounded by a slew of cameras and reporters. Insanity.
