This past weekend, Diana Klochova contributed a guest post here at MSF in which she interviewed Olivia Manning (mother of Peyton and Eli) during the Febreze Game Day Sports Equipment Drive. Diana is back today with another Super Bowl XLV guest post.

As you may recall, Diana was the winner of the P&G-sponsored Blogger Fantasy Football League* that I participated in this year. Diana’s prize for winning was a trip to the Super Bowl, and she was kind enough to put together a photo diary of her experience at the Big Game yesterday.

Below are the pictures Diana took and her descriptions of them.

Vick Wins Comeback Player

Email Post Email Post

Update: Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick won the AP 2010 Comeback Player of the Year Award.

Fantasy Impact: Vick received 29 and a half votes to be the first player ever to return from the NFL from jail, to go on to win this award. Vick was all thanks as he told NFL Total Access, "I have to give all glory to God and thank my coaches and my teammates. They put me in this position, they got me better as an NFL player, as a quarterback. They took advantage of my talents." Vick took over the starting job in week 2 when Kevin Kolb suffered a concussion, and outright won the starting job with his amazing play. He led the Eagles to a 10-6 record, a an NFC East division championship. This will undoubtably give Vick confidence leading into next season, look for him to have another great season behind center for the birds.

Introducing Angelina Vitale aka “Miss Evelyn”

Yesterday before the Super Bowl I gave you sneak peak at two of Chevy’s newest commercials. One of the commercials was entitled “Miss Evelyn” because of the rather fetching young woman who is featured driving the new Camaro.

Thanks to a commenter on that post, I found out that “Miss Evelyn” is a model named Angelina Vitale. And because you expect me to do such things, I found out some more information about her, plus some rather scintillating pictures.

You’re welcome. [Read more...]

Video: Pissed off Packers, Steelers fans lament TicketGate

Email Post Email Post

There is a radio host here in Dallas, where I live, who often refers to the city as “our fair burgh.” For about 1,200 Packers and Steelers fans who bought tickets, flights, hotel rooms, and took time off of work to watch their teams in the Super Bowl, but who then were told upon arriving at Cowboys Stadium that they would be unable to sit in their seats, “unfair burgh” is probably more along the lines of what they are thinking.

This video shows the reactions of some of the fans who got screwed out of watching the Super Bowl live due to “TicketGate” – otherwise known as Jerry Jones’ Monomaniacal Quest to Set a Super Bowl Attendance Record That No One Cares About.

Best Super Bowl XLV Commercial: NFL’s “Best. Fans. Ever.” Ad

Email Post Email Post
nfl-super-bowl-ad-best-fans-ever

And the award for best commercial from Super Bowl XLV goes to…

The NFL.

That’s right, the one entity that did not really need to advertise anything – heck, what could be a better advertisement than the great game on the field that we got? – hit the biggest home run of the night with its “Best. Fans. Ever.” ad.

Immediately after the ad ran, my Twitter feed blew up with people saying it was great. I concurred.

Ecstasy of Green & Gold: Aaron Rodgers and the World Champion Packers

Email Post Email Post

Well I was not exactly right.

Last Friday I predicted the Packers to win 30-24, I guess 31-25 is going to have to do.

But I did predict a Pick Six Over Texas, never mind that it wound up being Nick Collins and not Tramon Williams.

I’m just glad that my overly ambitious Christmas wish has somehow come true, which was six consecutive Green Bay victories. And it’s also good to see that not ALL of EA Sports/989 Sports prognostications come to pass.

I never thought I was asking for that much.

Green Bay Packers Super Bowl History and Results

Email Post Email Post

President Obama is on TV before a big sporting event, which means we are getting pretty close to kickoff! I don’t about you, but I can’t wait. I really think Packers-Steelers is going to be an outstanding Super Bowl.

This is the second of a quick two-post series that will expand on this post and break down the Super Bowl history of the SB XLV participants. Here is the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl history. The Packers do not have nearly as voluminous a Super Bowl history as the Steelers, but they do have a much more rich history of championships overall if you consider the pre-Super Bowl era.

As we inch closer and closer to kickoff, I keep finding interesting things to post about. (At least, I think they are interesting. And like Roger Goodell recently said to Mike Tomlin, don’t forget who runs shit around here.)

This will be the first of a quick two-post series that will expand on this post and break down the Super Bowl history of the SB XLV participants. We’ll start out with the Steelers because while the Packers have more NFL championships, no one has as many Super Bowl wins as Pittsburgh.

To kick things off, let’s start with Chevrolet, which has a couple of new vids circulating through the Interwebs that are rather entertaining.

Jets to tag Harris

Email Post Email Post

Update: ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Sunday morning reported that the Jets plan to place the franchise tag on David Harris this offseason, a move that will prevent other teams from getting their hands on one of the players most valuable to his team in the league.

Fantasy Impact: Let’s not forget the Jets have a slew of pending free agents, but it looks like Harris is the one guy they feel the most certain about keeping.
