It’s morning. While you get out your favorite coffee mug, pour a glass of orange juice, and make sure you have enough milk for your bowl of cereal, get yourself back up to date with the happenings in, or at least somewhat near, the sporting universe.
The following are links that we’re certain Keeley Hazell would love.

– Albert Pujols GASP arrived at Cardinals’ spring training to, yes, prepare for the upcoming baseball season like he has done every other year, and people already want to know his offseason plans. This feels like a story without legs at this juncture, but, I guess the same is true for early spring training.
– I’m sure you’ve heard by now, but this is definitely a new one in the pantheon of over-the-top, stupid things done in the name of a college football rivalry. Then again, my first reaction was, “Well, it did happen in Alabama, sooo…”
To conclude: Nice rep, state of Alabama.
– Exiting crazy-town, here’s a good story about Tony Gwynn’s slow but steady recovery from cancer.
– Should Peyton Manning take less money to help the Colts’ greater good?
– NBA All-Star Weekend is officially here!
Tonight, we’ve got the Rookies versus Sophomores game, while tomorrow we get events like the Skills Challenge and Three-Point Shootout to tide us over before Blake Griffin does whatever the hell he’s gonna do in the Dunk Contest.
Sunday, of course, is the main event. The best exhibition game in pro sports. The NBA really should let the players pick the teams, though.
– From the two games last night: Derrick Rose was filthy with 42 points as the Bulls got a quality win over the Spurs and Dirk (35 points, 13-18 shooting) was his awesome self, outgunning the Suns in a typically entertaining Mavs/Suns tilt.
– You’re telling me all of this worry about the Lakers will be forgotten if they win another championship? You are bold, sir!
– A very nice recap of Timberwolves president David Kahn’s assorted quotes. They’ll certainly make you think.
– Mark Cuban’s answer to the BCS might be called Radical Football. Sold.
And it’s Friday. I need to plan an All-Star party of my own.
