Best Super Bowl XLV Commercial: NFL’s “Best. Fans. Ever.” Ad

And the award for best commercial from Super Bowl XLV goes to…

The NFL.

That’s right, the one entity that did not really need to advertise anything – heck, what could be a better advertisement than the great game on the field that we got? – hit the biggest home run of the night with its “Best. Fans. Ever.” ad.

Immediately after the ad ran, my Twitter feed blew up with people saying it was great. I concurred.

The spot features no less than 48 television celebrities from 20 of America’s favorite shows, along with all 32 NFL teams.

The NFL released a second version of the spot after the game ended, creating a side-by-side version in which they dropped 180 visual changes, or Easter Eggs, into the new video. Can you spot them all?

  1. Clever, but too long. The ads were as bad as ever, but the best was GroupOn exposing the hypocrisy of people who champion causes but rarely act upon them.
