Update: The Seattle Seahawks have hired Darrell Bevell as offensive coordinator.
Fantasy Impact: Bevell takes over for the recently fired Jeremy Bates. This was an interesting hire given the Vikings offense has been extremely inconsistent.

Update: The Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy describes the chances of free agent Cedric Benson re-signing with the Bengals as "dim."
Fantasy Impact: The only way Benson is coming back to the Bengals is if it is at a big time discount. Benson should find work elsewhere, but if he runs out of options and is willing to sign for peanuts, the Bengals would probably bite on him.

Chicago is often hailed as one of the top sports towns in the nation and rightfully so. Chicago has been and and always will be a city where the people will follow their Chicago teams like it is their kids taking their first steps.
It’s not always the most successful sports city, however, and because of that Chicago fans tend to be a little weary and hesitant when their teams make it into the playoffs. But recent successes by Chicago teams (Bulls in the 90s, White Sox in ’05, Blackhawks last year) are slowly erasing the hesitant thoughts of Chicago fans.

Update: Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News predicts that the Jets will use Darrelle Revis to cover Hines Ward in the AFC Championship Game. Mehta anticipates Antonio Cromartie covering Mike Wallace.
Fantasy Impact: This makes complete sense although let's not forget Wallace torched Cromartie for 110 yards the last time these two teams met. If we were the coach, we would use Revis to cover Wallace.

It’s morning. While you get out your favorite coffee mug, pour a glass of orange juice, and make sure you have enough milk for your bowl of cereal, get yourself back up to date with the happenings in, or at least somewhat near, the sporting universe.
The following are links that we’re certain Aubrey Plaza would love.

Why?
Because archery is a sport, and every male sports fan I know likes sandwiches.
So archery + sandwiches = relevant for a sports blog.
You know what? Stop asking questions. Just watch the damn video. (And have your volume turned up because the music makes it awesome.)

Go ahead, fawn over the young quarterbacks who are still standing in the NFL Playoffs while you diss the legends of the Fall who were sent home early this year.
That’s right, go ahead and fawn over Aaron Rodgers. Talk about all of the stats he has put up in the regular season and in non-championship playoff games. Act like he’s already a legend. Go ahead.
And go ahead, fawn over Jay Cutler and his laser arm, and how he dissected the mighty Seattle Seahawks in the only postseason game he has played in since high school. Go ahead.
And go ahead, fawn over Mark Sanchez and how, despite his shaky starts and shaky stats, he always seems to come through – in the regular season and in non-championship playoff games at least – with the one or two big plays his team needs to pull out Ws in the end.
And go ahead, fawn over Ben Roethlisberger and…well, actually yes. Fawn over Ben Roethlisberger if you wish. He’s a Super Bowl Champion. He’s been there and done that. Twice. And I do think there should be some level of respect (but how much?) reserved for football field generals who can lead their teams to the ultimate prize.
Just make sure that while you’re fellating Big Ben for his playoff success that you fawn as much if not moreso over the Pittsburgh Steelers defense, because without them – and Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees will all likely agree – Big Ben is probably just another QB in the middle of his career hunting for a ring…and the gargantuan level of reverence that, right or wrong, comes with it.

Update: The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that the Steelers have officially ruled out DE Aaron Smith (torn triceps) for the AFC Championship Game. Smith is still shooting for a return during the Super Bowl — assuming the Steelers make it there. "I feel good, it's just a process," he said.
Fantasy Impact: Ziggy Hood will continue to get the snaps in Smith's absence.

Update: The New Orleans Times-Picayune's Jeff Duncan fully expects Jimmy Graham to win the Saints' starting tight end job in 2011.
Fantasy Impact: Veteran tight end Jeremy Shockey should be looking over his shoulder if he is not already. Graham's emergence may spell the end for Shockey in New Orleans. He would certainly find another team quickly.

Update: According to FoxSports' Jay Glazer on Twitter, the Eagles have received permission to interview Saints DBs coach Dennis Allen for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Fantasy Impact: Allen has drastically improved the Saints secondary. Allen is however very young, and it would be a real shock if the Eagles actually hired him.

Update: The Boston Globe reports that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will have surgery Thursday to repair the stress fracture in his right foot. He won't be playing in the Pro Bowl.
Fantasy Impact: Matt Cassel will replace Brady on the Pro Bowl Roster. The surgery should be considered minor and he will be fine for the start of training camp.

Update: TitanInsider.com's Darren McFarland reports that the Vikings' hiring of Titans running backs coach Craig Johnson enhances the chances of them targeting Vince Young. Johnson spent eight seasons as the quarterbacks coach in Tennessee.
Fantasy Impact: If there is anyone who knows what Young is capable of, it is Johnson. Many believe that the Vikings are Young's best option, but it may be interesting to see if they show interest in him or possibly Donovan McNabb who is likely to be released.

Update: The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Ravens safety Ed Reed has pulled out of the Pro Bowl due to due to injuries and family reasons. The Titans' Michael Griffin replaces him on the roster.
Fantasy Impact: Reed is still dealing with the loss of his brother, and he also had tweaked his ribs towards the end of the season. Expect Reed back for another season.
