Suddenly Single Star Photo Gallery Face-Off: Shakira or Scarlett Johannson

If one were to analyze the strategy behind this post through a political prism, it would be described as “playing to the base.”

If you look at MSF’s profile on Quantcast, you will see that 73% of our visitors are male and 67% of our visitors are between the ages of 18 and 49. If I had to guess – and to be clear, this is just conjecture – I would feel comfortable going out on a limb saying that the vast majority of that vast majority probably enjoys looking at pictures of attractive women.

And, to take the conjecture just a bit further, I bet the vast majority of that vast majority would particularly enjoy looking at pictures of attractive women who were once off the market but are now back on, if for no other reason than to be able to feel like Lloyd Christmas for one glorious moment. (So you’re telling me there’s a chance!)

So fellas, this post is for you, and it comes with this exciting bit of news: both Shakira and Scarlett Johannson are now single.

So yes, to all the single dudes out there reading this, I’m telling you there is a chance. Don’t listen to the naysayers. Why couldn’t you be the next significant other or even just rebound fling? Seriously damnit, why not?

It is times like these when I harken back to the spirit of the words said by the great Bruce Dickinson on a glorious Saturday night many years ago: Shakira and Scarlett Johannson put their pants on one leg at a time, just like the rest of us. And it’s true! Well, okay, at least it’s true when they wear pants, and there is ample evidence below that they do not always or even often wear pants,…but still! Even if they do make gold records once their pants are on…or off…go for it! What have you got to lose?

So, now that you’re sufficiently inspired, the question is: who are you going after? Shakira or Scarlett?

Williams to have DUI hearing Tues.

Email Post Email Post

Update:  The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that Mike Williams' DUI hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday. Williams has maintained that his post-arrest tests would come back negative for any impairing substances, but the Hillsborough County court won't reveal the results until the hearing.

Fantasy Impact:  The Bucs already fined Williams and administered their own testing which Williams passed.  This should be a formality at this point.

Seattle will kick to Hester

Email Post Email Post

Update: Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that the Seahawks will kick to Bears special teamer Devin Hester in Sunday's Divisional Round game. "We've got to kick the ball to him," Carroll said. "There's nothing we can do about it. We'd like to not [punt], though. That would help."

Fantasy Impact:  Hester is one of the most dangerous return men in the NFL.  He had three punt returns for TD's this season and is a threat every time he has the ball in his hands.

Fantasy Impact: This comes as no shock as Chudzinski has worked with new head coach Ron Rivera when they were in San Diego.  The Dolphins are also interested in Chuszinski's services.

What did Jim Irsay? – The @JimIrsay Tweet(s) of the Day for January 13th, 2011

Twitter has done many things since it exploded onto the scene a couple of years ago. From the perspective of a die-hard, obsessive sports fan like myself, one of the great effects of Twitter has been to give us peeks behind the curtain, so to speak, at what our favorite athletes and sports figures are like.

Well, there is perhaps no more entertaining and off-the-rails curtain to peek behind than that of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. He joined the micro-blogging site not too long ago and quickly became a prolific, must-follow tweeter. Knowing a little something about Irsay’s backstory – especially his indefatigable love of music – will help you to put his tweets into context. This quick Irsay biography tells you all you need to know.

What did Jim Irsay? is our daily (for the most part) segment that celebrates the most compelling of Irsay’s tweets. In today’s episode, we find out that Irsay is not the one responsible for Kate Hudson’s pregnancy, plus Jim regales us with a clever joke about a three-legged cat.

NFL Playoff Preview – AFC Divisional Round Matchups: Ravens-Steelers & Jets-Patriots

ravens-chargers preview prediction point spread baltimore san diego sunday night football

This goes without saying, but holy freaking shit these are some incredibly attractive-looking games.

Both are rubber matches of a split regular season series, both with plenty of healthy disdain for each side from the opposition, and the winner of both will probably be pretty wiped out once they’re reminded that this wasn’t the Super Bowl after all. Oh well, at least it’ll be fair in that way.

We’re going to stick with the same format as the Wildcard round, this time with a quick recap on last weekend’s winners and a formal, elegant introduction to the teams who think they’re soooooo cool because of that first round bye.

Dolphins to part ways with Brown

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to the Palm Beach Post, free agent running back Ronnie Brown will "almost certainly" not be re-signed by the Dolphins.

Fantasy Impact:  Miami is going to have a whole new backfield it appears as both Brown and Ricky Williams are free agents. Brown had a horrible 2010 season, and will be playing in a new uniform next year.

Email Post Email Post

Update: New York Jets wideout Santonio Holmes (quad) returned to practice on Wednesday, tweeted ESPN's Rich Cimini.

Fantasy Impact:  He was absent from practice on Tuesday, but it was probably Rex Ryan resting his star wideout.  No shot Holmes missing the game Sunday.

Lofton still nursing knee

Email Post Email Post

Update: Atlanta Falcons linebacker Curtis Lofton is still nursing the right knee he injured against the Panthers on January 2, according to Orlando D. Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Fantasy impact:  We will know more about Lofton's status on Friday, but it would be a shock if he was unable to go on Saturday.  He is a key contributor on defense, and the Falcons clearly need him out there.

All I’m going to say before showing you the quickly-becoming-infamous This is Indiana video by Brice Fox and Daniel Weber is this: Purdue fans and Notre Dame fans are surely having a grand ol’ time making fun of this, but they have cheesy video skeletons in their closets as well – here for Purdue and here for Notre Dame.

Now watch. My thoughts after.

Colts not worried about signing Manning

Email Post Email Post

Update: The Indianapolis Star is reporting that Colts owner Jim Irsay is optimistic the team and Peyton Manning can reach a contract agreement by March. "It should get done, and the sooner the better," Irsay said.

Fantasy Impact:  The lack of a CBA will certainly play into these negotiations, but the Colts clearly aren't letting Manning go anywhere.  This deal will get done, it is just a matter of when.
