AFC Championship Game: New York Jets v Pittsburgh Steelers Point Spread, Over-Under, TV Info, Announcers

On Saturday, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger did what we have come to expect them to do against the Baltimore Ravens: win. We got the tough, physical, close game we expected, but ultimately the Steelers were able to make the plays that the Ravens were not, and Big Ben remains alive for his third Super Bowl ring.

On Sunday, we most certainly did not get the game we expected. The New England Patriots, at home, looked out of sorts against the New York Jets. After all of the bluster and trash talk, the Jets actually backed it up and sent Tom Brady and Bill Belichick home long before we ever thought they’d be going home.

The Jets and Steelers played earlier this season, with the Jets saving their season by defeating Pittsburgh 22-17. Can the Jets, who are in the AFC Championship for the second straight year, pull off another upset?

All I can say is: "Stairway to Seven"… and so it is!

The Jets are coming off an emotional win and have beat Pittsburgh before (without Polamalu or Heath Miller.) A let down? Even if they do take the Steelers seriously, what they saw in the regular seasons ain't what they can expect in a play-off for all the marbles.

  • RH from Chi-Town

Steeler Fans. Sorry, but you will not be very unhappy Sunday night. The Jets rolled through the Colts and Pats. Now its the Steelers' turn (with all do respect to Mr Polamalu). Rex and his crew didn't come this far to have their plans derailed. Superbowl 2011 will be Jets-Bears, with Bears winning all the glory. And Arron who is playing in Chicago next Sunday?

  • Mike McCoy

Not only was Troy missng from that game, but so was Heath Miller. It will be different this time.

Jets will forever be the underdogs, all you doubters should have learned something yesterday. It is out year. Jets 31, Steelers 17

  • SteelerMan

The biggest mystery of this game is the -3 point spread. The Steelers will have the Jets for lunch. Here's why.

    1. Defense. Neither the Colts or the Patriots can compare to the Steeler's "D." They have allowed fewer rushing yards of any defense in 30 years. This will make the Jets one-dimensional and we all know what that means–Harrison and company with have Sanchez running for his life.

    2. Offense. The Steelers will be able to run on the Jets. If they try a 3-man rush, Mendenhall will be running for all kinds of yards. Also, Brady and Manning are both pocket-passers. If Ben has to scramble (and he will!), he's far more dangerous and he'll pick the secondary to pieces.

    3. Experience. Even with two impressive road games, the Jets will likely not be able to hear anything at the ketchup bottle. They will also be tired. Polamalu is back. Big problems for NY.

    4. History. The Steelers are 7-1 against the Jets all-time with six Superbowl rings. They kow how to win.

    STEELERS–28
    JETS–18

are you fucking kidding me? big fuckin fat ugly ben is a fucking piece of shit lowest of the low. he raped a young girl and payed her off after charges were filed, and then all of a sudden the charges were dropped? he definatly payed her off. you people sicken me with your talk of him. he should be in jail for 25 to life. i would snuff him if i had the chance.

[Editor's note: a portion of this comment was edited because I considered it unnecessarily vulgar and offensive.]

    It's too close to call.

Nic – why dont you go back and check Sanchez's rape CHARGE while he was at USC…just because it was a few years ago and the typical USC/LA attorneys brushed it under the rug? Oh..and by the way, the night he raped the girl he was also using a fake ID (he was only 19) and caught on video cameras leaving a 21 and over night club while intoxicated.

I guess just because Ben didnt get paid to do a GQ spread….you should go ahead and pick on him instead of realizing that your young boy (who probably has a small johnson) committed the same if not worse crime.
