McNabb to Bench

Email Post Email Post

Update:
ESPN.com reports that Donovan McNabb has been benched the remainder of the season.
Fantasy Update:
McNabb was traded to the redskins in the off-season to take over this offense and lead them to the playoffs. So far he has endured playing with a third string RB, number 2 receivers at best and missed Chris Cooley for two games. The offensive line is terrible and head coach Mike Shannahan benched in with two minutes left against the Lions in favor of Rex Grossman??? So who is the real screw up this season. Donovan has proved throughout his career that if he has play makers around him he will make all the plays it takes to win. Without them he’s nothing. This is terrible for a hall-of-fame like QB.

Lloyd returns to Practice

Update:
Andrew Mason reports Brandon Lloyd (calf) practiced in full Thursday, as expected.
Fantasy Update:
Lloyd was an amazing fantasy pick-up earlier this season as he led all receivers in fantasy points for a large part of the season. Lloyd has since come back to earth and become his normal unproductive self. Don’t expect much from Lloyd this week as QB Orton has yet to throw the ball this week and is danger of not playing.

Todd Heap out this week

Email Post Email Post

Update: Rotoworld.com is reporting that Ravens TE Todd Heap has been ruled out for this week's game against the Saints. Heap is still recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out of last week's game as well.

Fantasy Impact: Heap, who has been a mainstay at the Ravens TE position, is going to miss his second straight game this season. Heap rarely misses games so this injury is not one to look lightly on. Heap could very well rest his hamstring for the rest of the regular season so he's ready to go for the playoffs. Ed Dickson will get the start in place of him.

Vikings Peterson doesn’t practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: Rotoworld.com is reporting that Vikings RB Adrian Peterson was held out of practice again today. Peterson is battling ankle and knee injuries. His status isn't decided for this week's game against the Bears, but he should be able to play like always.

Fantasy Impact: Peterson is going to have to play and have a huge game if the Vikings want any chance of winning this week. They are going up the division leader in the Chicago Bears and are starting a rookie QB. One bit of good news for Peterson is that they are playing Monday night which gives him an extra day of rest.

Harvin practices; will play

Email Post Email Post

Update: Rotoworld.com is reporting that Vikings WR Percy Harvin practiced again today. He also confirmed that he will play in the Chicago game on Monday Night. Harvin has sat out the past few weeks suffering from migraines.

Fantasy Impact: Harvin will be a huge addition to the Vikings if he can in fact play Monday Night. Joe Webb is looking like the starting QB and he will need all the help and weapons he can get against the Bears defense. Don't expect anyone on that offense, besides AP, to have a good game. AP will get a heavy workload with Webb in at QB.

Matt Cassel will be game time decision

Email Post Email Post

Update: Rotoworld.com is reporting that Chiefs QB Matt Cassel will be a game time decision for this week's game against the Rams. Cassel missed last week while still recovering from an appendectomy. All signs are leaning towards Cassel being able to play.

Fantasy Impact: This is a big game for the Chiefs as the Chargers, with their win last night, pulled within a half game of 1st place in the AFC West. Cassel will be a game time decision, but looks like he'll be able to go. If however Cassel can't go, I would immediately bench Dwayne Bowe, because his value will go down tremendously if Croyle starts again.

Webb starting for Vikings

Update: Adam Schefter is reporting that the Vikings are going to start rookie Joe Webb at QB this week. Webb, the team's 3rd QB will get his first start of his career after Brett Favre and Tavaris Jackson both went down with injuries.

Fantasy Impact: Webb is an interesting play this week. He has WR eligibility in some leagues so that could benefit owners looking for a WR. I don't see Webb having even an average game against one of the top defenses in the league in the Chicago Bears. Again though, if he does have WR status in your league, he is worth the play, because of how many passing yards he can rack up.

Eagles Jackson, Samuel are questionable

Email Post Email Post

Update: Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that Eagles coach Andy Reid said that Asante Samuel and Desean Jackson are both questionable for this weekend's game against the Giants. Both did practice today however and got the necessary reps they needed to get in.

Fantasy Impact: Jackson is supposed to play, especially after he practiced today. Samuel has been practicing for awhile now, but he has missed the past few weeks while recovering from his injury. If both are able to return Sunday, it will be a huge boost for the Eagles as this game may decide who goes to the playoffs and who doesn't.
