Today’s reason why I miss college: Battleshots

We may need to just make this a new regular post on the site. (In fact, I just did, creating a new category entitled “Today’s Reason Why I Miss College”.) You may recall that a couple weeks back I posted this picture of the world’s most comfortable toilet, which was sent to me by my girlfriend’s brother; he is currently an engineering student at Baylor.

Just a few minutes ago, while perusing the Internet treasure chest known as Reddit, I found the picture below. Who knows if these two dudes are actually in college, but I think it’s a pretty safe assumption, don’t you?

Obviously these two creative young minds have taken the popular family game Battleship to the next level, replacing the game board with a crudely created cardboard playing area and lots and lots of shot glasses. (Of course, it looks like they are drinking cheap rum, which wouldn’t be ideal; but again, this is college, so…)

I don’t find this picture all that interesting because I played Battleship as a kid (I didn’t) or because I liked to take shot after shot after cheap rum (I didn’t). However, having the time and freedom to come up with random ways like this to pass an evening was quite entertaining. Seeing Battleshots was a nice reminder.

By the way, a few funny/relevant links from the Reddit comment section:

That's a Seagrams Gin bottle, therefore I would assume they are playing with gin not rum.

Good call. I didn't look at the bottle close enough. Hard to read as it is.
