Gates Questionable

Email Post Email Post

Update:
According to the NFL Network, Chargers TE Antonio Gates is questionable for this Sundays game against Indy. Gates has practiced this week but has been very limited to go along with soreness.

Fantasy Update:
Gates has missed the past two games and yet the Chargers are still getting it done with makeshift receivers, back-up TE and RB. If Gates is able to go then he is most definitely a starter, but if not look else where for a TE as Phillip Rivers may lean towards his “new” favorite receiver in Vincent Jackson this weekend.

Delhomme to Start

Email Post Email Post

Update:
According to the NFL Network, the Browns have announced Jake Delhomme the starter this weekend against the Panthers. Delhomme has missed eight weeks due to an injury but with McCoy now on the mend Delhomme will get the start.
Fantasy Update:
Delhomme has not played in quite sometime now but you have to believe he would not have missed this game for the world. Delhomme will start against his old team in the Panthers, hoping to make them pay for the decision of letting him go. McCoy will be the third QB in the game.

Thanksgiving Week Bettor’s Guide: NFL Week 12 Picks, Point Spreads, and Over-Under Odds

Email Post Email Post

This post is from 2010!

If you accidentally landed here, click to view all of our 2011 Thanksgiving Day content, including the Thanksgiving Day Football Schedule.

I declared myself “back” last week after reversing a bad trend of sub-.500 records by going 9-5. In Week 12, I backed that statement up with another solid day. I’m sitting at 7-4-1 heading into tonight’s Monday nighter. If the Broncos can keep the game within double digits, I’ll have another very solid week notched into the 2010 docket. Even if they lose, I’m two games over for Week 12, which I’ll take every single time.

[Note: Denver did not keep it within double digits. Not even close. 7-5-1 it is.]

I’m getting the Bettor’s Guide up early this week because of the three Thanksgiving Day games on Thursday. I know that a lot of the spreads aren’t posted yet, but I’ll update this post with those spreads and picks when they are available.

Marshall status is uncertain

Email Post Email Post

Update:
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall didn’t practice Friday because of a left hamstring injury, according to the Sun Sentinel.
Fantasy Impact:
This is terrible news for the Dolphins. Marshall is their main threat through the air and his status is still uncertain for Sunday. The Dolphins will be facing an opportunistic Raiders team that gets their defensive leader back in Nnamndi Asomugha. If Marshall is unable to go, Davone Bess and Brian Hartline will get the majority of the catches through the air.

Asomugha at 90%

Update:
Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable said CB Nnamdi Asomugha (ankle) is roughly 90 percent healthy, according to Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers.

Fantasy Impact:
This is great news for Raiders fans and terrible news for Dolphins fans. The Dolphins may already be without WR Brandon Marshall and for Asomugha to come back healthy does not help the Dolphins passing attack.

Moeaki Uncertain

Update:
Phillip Wilson of The Indianapolis Star reports that Mike Hart put in a full practice on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:
Hart will likely play this weekend against the Chargers but will share carries with fellow RB Donald Brown. San Diego has been tough against the run so far this season and with the shared carries, Hart is not worth a start in fantasy.

Beanie wants the ball

Email Post Email Post

Update:
Beanie Wells tells radio station “…I can be one of the elite backs in this league.”

Fantasy Impact:
Beanie is going out on a limb here since he has yet to establish himself as even a mediocre RB in this league. So far this season he has rushed for 270 yards and 2 touchdowns on 78 carries, for an average of 3.4ypc. His average is not awful, but the problem is that he has already missed four games this season with a variety of injuries. If he stays healthy for an extended time he is likely to get more carries.

Romo wants In

Email Post Email Post

Update:
Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (clavicle) said that he wants to play again this season, according to Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News. “Anytime there’s football games going on, you always want to play,” Romo said. “There’s no question about that.” Romo is at least three weeks away from getting back to the field.

Fantasy Update:
The Cowboys under Tony Romo this season – one win, five losses. The cowboys under Jon Kitna this season – two wins, three losses. I’m not saying that Kitna is the better QB, but he has played well in most of his starts, not to mention beat some good teams. With Kitna playing the way he is, don’t expect the Cowboys to rush their star QB back from injury to play for nothing.

With only six games left in the 2010 NFL season, it is natural for people to look for this year’s possible MVP candidates. This year’s most popular names are Philip Rivers, Michael Vick and Tom Brady.

Today however, we are going to look at a different quarterback who deserves the same amount of attention and publicity as anyone.

Josh Freeman.

Fantasy Football Week 12 Injury Updates: Rice, Berrian, Moss, Torain, and more

Email Post Email Post

I’m sure that many of you have already made the majority of your lineup decisions with the three star-studded games from yesterday necessitating some early choices. Now that those games are over, whether your Thursday players were successful or not (mine were!), it’s important that you reevaluate your remaining open slots to ensure the best possible lineup for pivotal Week 12.

As I do every week, I’ve gone through the official injury report and researched the latest known information on every fantasy-relevant injury for the weekend. Use this as a guide while setting lineups, and then make sure to check them again on Sunday morning to see which GTDs play and which ones don’t.

RB Stewart back at practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a concussion in week nine. He has declared himself as ready to play in week 12. The Panthers face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Stewart will most likely get a good chunk of carries, but the Panthers will probably stick with RB Mike Goodson as the starter since he has posted over 100 yards rushing in each of the past two games. Consider Stewart a low number two or high number three back in terms of fantasy.

WR Marshall could miss multiple games

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that Miami Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall could miss multiple games with a hamstring injury. Marshall suffered the injury in the team's Thursday night loss against the Chicago Bears. He still hasn't been officially declared out for week 12.

Fantasy Impact: It doesn't look very good for Marshall even if he does play. The Oakland Raiders have a top-five pass defese so even if he does play it probably would be wise to start him. Stash him on the bench in fantasy leagues and hope he doesn't miss an extended period of time.
