Portis will start today

Email Post Email Post

Update: Adam Schefter is reporting that RB Clinton Portis will start today for the Redskins against the Titans. This will be Portis' first action since tearing his groin in week 2.

Fantasy Impact: Portis and the 'Skins will go up against a very tough Tennessee defense this week. Portis will split carries with rookie Keiland Williams. I would expect no more than 15 carries for Portis in his first game back.

WESTBOUND-ONLY TRAFFIC AT WRIGLEY

Fittingly, in a city with more than enough one-way streets, Illinois and Northwestern will be playing one-way football this Saturday in a scenario never seen before in the NCAA.

Reggie Bush hopes to play this week

Email Post Email Post

Update: ESPN.com is reporting that Saints RB Reggie Bush is questionable for this weeks game against the Seahawks. Bush has practiced all week and is recovering from a broken leg.

Fantasy Impact: Bush has not played since week 2. Pierre Thomas has already been ruled out for the week so Bush would get a decent amount of carries if he is healthy enough to play. I wouldn't start Bush because there is too much uncertainty for this week. However, keep track of his progress because everytime he touches the football, he has a chance to score.

After arrest, WR Williams will play

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL.com is reporting that Bucs coach Raheem Morris said that WR Mike Williams will travel to San Francisco and will play in this week's game.

Fantasy Impact: Williams has become a must start in most leagues. He is the team's leading receiver and definitely a ROY candidate so far. Start Williams against a weak San Fran pass defense.

Torain out, Portis likely back for ‘Skins

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL.com is reporting that Redskins RB Ryan Torain is out this week and Clinton Portis could return. Torain will miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury. Portis has missed the last five games with a torn groin.

Fantasy Impact: Portis had a slow start to the season, but averaged 6.3 and 5 ypc in the last two games before he was injured. The Redskins are playing in Tennessee, who has a great defense so I wouldn't expect much from whoever is running out of Washington's backfield.

Vikings almost certain Rice will be back

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL.com is reporting that the Vikings are "almost certain" to activate WR Sidney Rice this week against Green Bay. If Rice is going to play at all this season, he must be active for this week's game.

Fantasy Impact: Rice has not played a game this year after recovering from hip surgery. He had been the Vikings' top WR the past few seasons. If he is active and is able to contribute, it will definitely boost the team's morale if nothing else because right now the Vikes don't have much going for them.

The Ohio State University is 45-14-3 all-time versus the Iowa Hawkeyes and 16-6-2 all-time in Iowa City.

Iowa and Ohio State were battling for the Big Ten title about this same time last year. A lot of people (including College Gameday) were planning on the same thing this year, until Northwestern upset Iowa last week for the fifth time in six meetings. Iowa had the inside track to winning the Big Ten last year as well, until they lost to Northwestern. Now the Hawkeyes look to spoil the Buckeyes bid to getting at least a share of the title for the sixth season in a row.

Well, I tried. I tried to envision a scenario different from every season’s outcome in the AFC West since 2006, but it’s not happening. Sure, it’s fun to imagine the Chiefs or Raiders hanging on to win the AFC West and lose fantastically in the playoffs, but that kind of thing doesn’t happen in this here division.

Ochocinco practices, questionable for week 11

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL.com is reporting that Cincinatti Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco returned to practice Friday. He has been nursing a shoulder injury that kept him out of practice on Thursday and also said that he was in "serious pain." He is listed as questionable for week 11.

Fantasy Impact: Ochocinco has been pretty inconsistent from week to week due to WR Terrell Owens's success with the team, but should still be considered a number two receiver in terms of fantasy. The Bengals play the Buffalo Bills next week so he has a pretty good amtchup if he is able to go. Monitor his status over the weekend and keep him in the starting lineup if he does play on Sunday.

WR Cribbs misses practice, status unknown for next week

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL.com is reporting that Cleveland Browns WR Josh Cribbs missed practice Friday for the third consecutive day and is unclear on if he will play on Sunday. Cribbs dislocated all of his toes in his right foot (excpt his big toe) last week against the New York Jets. Head Coach Eric Mangini said he will wait to decide Cribbs' status until closer to gameday.

Fantasy Impact: Cribbs hasn't been an every-week starter in fantasy anyways so this isn't too big of a deal. However, the Browns will need him in order to beat the Jacksonville next week. It's probably best to drop Cribbs since he hasn't lived up to expectations this year anyway.

TE Stevens out for a few weeks

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL.com is reporting that Tennessee Titans TE Craig Stevens will miss a few weeks with a knee injury that required surgery. Stevens has missed practice all week with the injury.

Fantasy Impact: Stevens only has seven catches and one touchdown on the year, so he wasn't doing much in terms of fantasy anyways. Continue to ignore this and look for tight end help elsewhere.

RB Sutton won’t play for Carolina

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that Carolina Panthers RB Tyrell Sutton has been ruled out for week 11. Sutton is battling an ankle injury. RB Mike Goodson will get the start ahead of Sutton.

Fantasy Impact: He is the third running back on the Panthers' roster that is down with an injury. Since the Panthers have been doing so bad on offense this year, don't bother picking up Goodson and look for running back help elsewhere, like Washington Redskins RB Keiland Williams who might get the start if RB Ryan Torain can't play due to his hamstring injury.

TE Boss returns to practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBssports.com is reporting that New York Giants TE Kevin Boss returned to practice Friday. Boss has been nursing a back injury that kept him out of practice previously. His status for next week is still unclear.

Fantasy Impact: Boss has caught a touchdown in the past two consecutive games so the Giants will need him in order to beat the Philadelphia Eagles next week. Keep an eye on him over the weekend and hope he can play Sunday and should be started in all fantasy leagues considering the hot streak he is currently on.

RB Stewart ruled out for week 11

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart has been ruled out for week 11. Stewart has been suffering from a concussion that has kept him out of practice all this week and all last week and missed the team's previous game. RB Mike Goodson will start in place of Stewart.

Fantasy Impact: Both RB DeAngelo Williams and Stewart have gone down with injuries and won't be able to play. The Panthers have been horrible this year partly due to all the injuries. Keep Stewart on the bench and hope he can come back in time for fantasy playoffs since he will get the majority of carries since Williams is done for the year.
