Jennings Dominates Vikings

Email Post Email Post

Update: The Green Bay Packers blew out the Vikings 31-3 in Minnesota, and WR Greg Jennings had his way with the Viking defenders. He caught 7 balls for 152 yards and 3 touchdowns. Those touchdowns came from 11 yards, 46 yards, and 22 yards out.

Fantasy Impact: Through 10 games Jennings has been terrific. He has caught 46 passes for 703 yards and an impressive 9 touchdowns. He has not scored a touchdown in just 3 games, which is great for his owners in fantasy.

Jones-Drew Leads Jaguars Past Browns

Email Post Email Post

Update: On Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Browns 24-20 behind the strong running of RB Maurice Jones-Drew. Jones-Drew rushed the ball 23 times for 133 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 3 balls for 87 yards, including a 75 yard pass and catch late in the game that led to a 1-yard rushing score. The one blemish on the stat sheet for Jones-Drew was his one thrown interception.

Fantasy Impact: Jones-Drew has been running the ball extremely effecienty the last few weeks. On the season he has rushed the ball 209 times for 878 yards and 4 touchdowns. He has also caught the ball 24 times for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns. It appears that Jones-Drew is getting stronger and running harder as the season goes on, which is great news for his fantasy owners.

This post is from 2010!

If you accidentally landed here, click to view all of our 2011 Thanksgiving Day content, including the Thanksgiving Day Football Schedule.

One of the greatest days of every year is Thanksgiving. I could write thousands upon thousands of words explaining why Thanksgiving is such a special day, and you’d nod in agreement at all of them.

There aren’t many things that all Americans agree on, but Thanksgiving is one of them.

Somewhere among those thousands upon thousands of words about Thanksgiving would be at least a few paragraphs about football, because after turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie, there aren’t many traditions more sacred that Thanksgiving Day football.

So even thought we’re a couple of weeks away, I figured I’d whet your appetite with the NFL’s Thanksgiving Day football schedule for 2010.

Email Post Email Post

To anyone who asked questions from Friday through Sunday morning last week, I apologize for not being able to get to them. On Friday I addressed my weekend absence, but I realize not everyone read that post.

Just know that last weekend was an anomaly, not the new norm. I’ll be here this week and all future weeks to keep answering all your questions as we come down the stretch. We have championships to win!

That said, let’s take a look at the waiver wire to see who you should be targeting for Week 12 and beyond.

Vince Young has lost his QB job regardless of injury

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to profootballtalk.com, Titans coach Jeff Fisher has seen enough. He said after their OT loss today that Vince Young will not be his starting QB anymore. Young was injured during the game with a torn tendon in his thumb. Fisher said the benching is without regard to the injury he suffered.

Fantasy Impact: Young has had a very rough season. It's amazing how the Titans are still in the playoff hunt at 5-5. While Young has limited his mistakes, he also hasn't done much scoring wise. He has only 10 TDs this season and about 1000 yards passing in 8 games to this point. Randy Moss is still on the team so maybe he and Kerry Collins can establish a connection and get this offense back to where it should be. Right now they are wasting having the best RB in the NFL right now in Chris Johnson.

Portis re-aggravates groin in win

Email Post Email Post

Update: Clinton Portis had to leave the Titans game early after he re-aggravated his groin according to NFL.com. Portis had just returned after missing five games because of the groin injury.

Fantasy Impact: Portis had only 5 carries, but did get 32 yards before going down. Keiland Williams took over after Portis was knocked out. The Redskins lost six starters in the first half alone today. They should be lucky that they came away with a much needed win.

Vince Young knocked out of game with thumb injury

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to rotoworld.com, Titans QB Vince Young has left the game in the 3rd quarter with a thumb injury to his throwing hand. They are still waiting on what exactly the injury is.

Fantasy Impact: Rookie Rusty Smith has come into the game and will likely finish it. Kerry Collins was out for today's game. That's why he is not in. Young had been quite efficient today completing 12 of 16 passes. None of those passes went to Randy Moss though. He is still without a reception as a Titan.

Felix Jones taken to locker room

Email Post Email Post

Update: Dave Birkettof the Detroit Free Press is reporting that Cowboys RB Felix Jones has left the game against the Lions with a hip injury. He has gone into the locker room for further treatment.

Fantasy Impact: The past two weeks, Jones has been getting more and more carries over Marion Barber. He had 5 compared to Barber's 3 today until he was hurt. His return is questionable today.

Reggie Bush is inactive

Email Post Email Post

Update: Espn.com's NFC West blog is reporting that Saints RB Reggie Bush is inactive for this afternoon's game against the Seahawks. Bush had hoped to play after trying to fully recover from a broken fibula he suffered earlier this season.

Fantasy Impact: Bush had been participating in some portions of practice this week and had a chance to play. Reports came out today that said that Bush will not play unless he is 100%. He must not be fully ready to go and with Pierre Thomas out again, Julius Jones is an interesting play today as he starts. He could make a good play today if Brees and company get ahead on the Seahawks early and often.

Donald Driver active

Email Post Email Post

Update: Adam Schefter is reporting that Packers WR Donald Driver is active today and will play against the Vikings. Driver missed his first game since 2003 last week.

Fantasy Impact: Yards-wise Driver hasn't had his best seasons but he is still scoring. He has 3 TDs in 6 games so far. He is always a threat in the red zone and has always shown good chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. Driver would be a good flex option today against the Vikes.

Beanie Wells is active today

Email Post Email Post

Update: Adam Schefter is reporting on his Twitter that Cardinals RB Chris Beanie Wells is active today. Wells missed last week's game with a right knee injury.

Fantasy Impact: Tim Hightower has started in Wells' place and might again this week. The Cardinals backfield has been a RB by committee this season. Whoever is playing the best will get the bulk of the carries each week. This week it looks like Hightower will still get the majority with Wells easing back into game form.

Colts WR Collie likely to play

Email Post Email Post

Update: SI.com is reporting that Colts WR Austin Collie traveled with the team to New England and that the team expects him to play today. Collie is listed as questionable after suffering a concussion two weeks ago.

Fantasy Impact: If Collie is able to play, he will start and should see many passes come his way from Manning. Collie is having a great 2nd year with the Colts and it's a shame he's been bothered by a few injuries. As of right now I'd put Collie as a WR/RB flex option, but he should be no higher than your 3rd WR this week with his uncertainty.

Colts RB Addai out

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to espn.com, Colts RB Joseph Addai has been downgraded to "out" this week against the Patriots. Addai and four others did not make the trip to New England. Addai hasn't played since October 17 when he hurt his shoulder.

Fantasy Impact: Donald Brown will get the start for the Colts with Mike Hart also listed as out for the game. The Colts will be very short handed at RB this week so expect Brown to get most of the carries. Brown is still not a good start this week. He has not looked good this year and Jarvarris James looks to be getting most of the goal line carries.

Gates appears doubtful

Email Post Email Post

Update: Rotoworld.com and the San Diego Tribune is reporting that Chargers TE Antonio Gates "would appear doubtful" for their Monday Night matchup against the Broncos. Gates is listed as questionable right now.

Fantasy Impact: Gates did not practice Saturday and is looking quite doubtful. His toe has been bothering him for most of the season and the bye week last week didn't help him recover. Even though it may be hard, I would bench Gates for a sure play this week. I wouldn't take the chance.

Portis will start today

Email Post Email Post

Update: Adam Schefter is reporting that RB Clinton Portis will start today for the Redskins against the Titans. This will be Portis' first action since tearing his groin in week 2.

Fantasy Impact: Portis and the 'Skins will go up against a very tough Tennessee defense this week. Portis will split carries with rookie Keiland Williams. I would expect no more than 15 carries for Portis in his first game back.
