We last left the AFC South division two weeks ago. Had I known – or, had I been smart enough to look ahead – the schedule makers were going to hit us with another showdown from this division, I probably wouldn’t have recapped the whole freaking thing last time.

Worry not though, readers, because both the Colts and Texans are coming off bye weeks which were anything but relaxing weeks away from the game.

Yep, this sign pretty much sums up the World Series so far

The first two games haven’t gone so well for the Texas Rangers. Other than a little kid’s Halloween costume, there hasn’t much of anything to smile about.

And when fans of the opposing team are quoting Antoine Dodson on their hastily made signs, you know things are going badly.

The NBA Morning After: Magical Edition

Email Post Email Post

Welcome to the Morning After, a look at the night that was in the NBA and other NBA-related fodder

– In what could be construed as some sort of labor versus management uprising for the supernatural world, the Magic rose up and overtook the Wizards in pretty overwhelming fashion. In the NBA world this makes a lot more sense, because the Orlando Magic love beating the hell out of lesser opponents, especially when opening a new arena against a rookie point guard, like they did Washington, 112-83.

No podcast again this week. Sorry everyone. I usually record Thursday afternoons and was out of the office all day giving presentations to a small business group about social media. But I got to show everyone this awesome picture as a part of the presentation, so at least I got a few laughs.

Regardless, I’m here with my locks of the week for those of you who pay attention to this sort of thing.

Friday Injury Updates: Favre, Addai, Donald Brown, and more

Email Post Email Post

Brett Favre is injured everyone. Seriously.

What? You hadn’t heard yet? Yeah, he’s got a bum ankle. He’s been in a walking boot all week. Hasn’t practiced. The streak – the streak – is in jeopardy.

Look, let’s just get the Brett Favre portion of this injury update out of the way right off the bat. I will believe that Brett Favre is not going to start on Sunday when Tarvaris Jackson is under center and has taken the first snap of the game. Until then, I don’t care if practices or doesn’t practice. I don’t care if he says he’s going to play or not. I don’t care if Brad Childress says Favre will play or not.

If we’ve learned one thing from all of the Favre nonsense over the past few years, it’s this: no matter what, when the issue is Brett Favre playing football, expect him to play. That’s it, it’s that simple.

Rams sign S Lewis

Email Post Email Post

Update: STLtoday.com is reporting that the St. Louis Rams have signed veteran S Michael Lewis Wednesday. Lewis was released by the San Francisco 49ers earlier this season because he was stripped of his starting role by rookie S Taylor Mays. Lewis was asked to mentor the young defensive back but instead he asked for his release.

Fantasy Impact: Lewis is a solid safety that will give the Rams added depth at the position. S Craig Dahl and S James Butler have been battling with injuries so far this season so Lewis's presence will help out greatly. The Rams defense is going up against a sub-par Carolina Panthers offense and has been solid all year long so start the Rams DST in all fantasy leagues.

TE Davis again doesn’t practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that San Francisco TE Vernon Davis didn't practice again Thursday with an ankle injury. He is expected to play in London against the Denver Broncos but will have a new quarterback throwing to him in QB Troy Smith.

Fantasy Impact: The Broncos have given up a lot of touchdowns through the air so far this year (11 total). This could be a great matchup provided he's healthy and Smith does a decent job throwing the ball. Still, he should be in all starting lineups in all fantasy leagues.

RB Williams doesn’t practice again

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that Carolina Panthers RB Deangelo Williams missed practice again Thursday with a foot injury. If he can't practice Friday, he will most likely not play in week eight against the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Impact: Even if he does play, he will be going up against a St. Louis defense that ranks in the upper half against the run. He should be sit in all fantasy leagues.

RB Addai misses practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai missed practice Thursday with nerve damage in his shoulder. He suffered the injury in week six against the Washington Redskins and is currently listed as day-to-day.

Fantasy Impact: Head Coach Jim Caldwell said that Addai has a very high tolerance for pain, so that gives him an added chance to play next week. However, don't bet on Addai playing in week eight. Bye weeks are starting to come in full swing, so it would be wise to start looking for RB help elsewhere.

Vince Young returns to practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: ESPN.com is reporting that Tennesee Titans QB Vince Young practiced Thursday for the first time since spraining his knee and ankle on October 18 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Whether Young will play this Sunday is still unknown. Head Coach Jeff Fisher said he wants to see how Young moves around and takes snaps under center before he makes his decision.

Fantasy Impact: Young hasn't been outstanding so far this year, and QB Kerry Collins has done a superb job of taking over in Young's absence. Although Young is more of a threat than Collins, Collins will most likely get the start since he still has the ability to play at a high level.
