Jacoby Ford Gets Start

Email Post Email Post

Update:
According to CSN’s Paul Gutierrez, receiver Jacoby Ford will start this weekend for the Oakland Raiders.
Fantasy Update:
Ford will start for the injured Louis Murphy this weekend for the Raiders. He will likely not see many balls his way as this week will be the Darren McFadden show. McFadden is the only offensive player that serves any value for the Raiders right now.

Jackson to Sign

Email Post Email Post

Update:
Vincent Jackson “will officially report to the Chargers and sign his tender within the hour,” according to NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora..

Fantasy Update:
Jackson may be signing his tender but he still unavailable until week 12, nor is he happy about being in San Diego. Jackson is almost a lost cause this season, and will likely not see much playing time even when he comes back.

Chargers TE Gates practices, still questionable

Email Post Email Post

Update: Adam Caplan of foxsports.com is reporting that Chargers TE Antonio Gates (toe) practiced today. He is listed as questionable on the team's injury report.

Fantasy Impact: Despite the inury, Gates has played through it all season long. With Gates practicing today, he will most likely play through the pain once again, especially with WRs Floyd and Naanee listed as doubtful for this weekend. Gates had a decent game last week scoring a TD after not practicing all week. If he has a chance to play (which it looks like he does) start him.

Reggie Bush Out

Update:

Reggie Bush has been declared out for Sunday evening against the Steelers, according to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Fantasy Update:

Bush was hoping to get back soon in order to help the struggling champions, but it seems that it wont happen anytime soon. Bush has been declared out this week and will likely not play next week either with the Saints bye week coming the week after. Chris Ivory is the starter this week against a tough Pittsburgh defense.

Driver listed as probable

Email Post Email Post

Update: Donald Driver (quad) is listed as probable for Week 8 against the Jets, according to the Newark Star-Ledger's Jenny Vrentas. Fantasy Update: Driver played through his injury last week against the Packers and was a non-factor in the game. This week the Packers play a tough Jets defense and Driver is unlikely to see any kind of significant action. Driver should be benched in favor of somebody else this week.

Saints Bush, Thomas both out for Sunday

Email Post Email Post

Update: SI.com is reporting that Saints RBs Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas are both out for Sunday Night's game against the Steelers. Bush is recovering from a fracture in his lieg, while Thomas is nursing a sprained ankle.

Fantasy Impact: The Saints will miss both of these explosive players as they go up against a tough Pittsburgh defense. Chris Ivory will likely get another chance to prove he can start on this team. I would not play him on my fantasy team against the top ranked rush defense in the NFL.

QB Campbell will start in week 8

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that the Oakland Raiders have named QB Jason Campbell as the team's starter for week eight. QB Bruce Gradkowski is suffering from a shoulder injury and didn't practice in full, which led Head Coach Tom Cable to sit him Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Campbell played well enough to lead the Raiders to a blowout victory over the Denver Broncos last week, and this week he could do even better against the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks have been terrible against the pass this year giving 261.3 yards per game through the air. Campbell is a nice fit to fill in for a starting QB that is on bye, but otherwise keep him on the bench as a number two QB.

QB Palmer says he’s playing Sunday

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that Cincinatti Bengals QB Carson Palmer practiced Friday and says he's going to play on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Palmer has been suffering from a hip injury and was listed as probable on the team's injury report.

Fantasy Impact: Palmer went off last week against the Atlanta Falcons throwing for 412 yards and three touchdowns. Miami ranks in the middle of the pack in pass defense, so it's safe to keep in him starting lineups in fantasy leagues. Make sure he is playing before locking him into the starting spot, but all signs are pointing to him being on the field on Sunday.

RB Brown practices, expected to play Sunday

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that Indianapolis Colts RB Donald Brown practiced Friday and is expected to play Sunday against the Houston Texans. Brown has missed the past three games with an injury.

Fantasy Impact: The Houston Texans have been allowing over 100 yards per game on the ground which means Brown could get the opportunity to put up big numbers. With RB Joseph Addai out, Brown will the majority of the carries as opposed to fellow teammate RB Mike Hart. Brown should be considered a number two back in terms of fantasy.

WR Alexander will miss a few weeks

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that St. Louis Rams WR Danario Alexander left practice Friday with a knee injury. He will have a knee scope and will miss a few weeks. The injury occured on the same knee that dropped his draft value enough to make him go undrafted in April.

Fantasy Impact: The knee has been a problem with Alexander since before being signed to the Rams this offseason. Rams wide receivers have been dropping left and right this year with WR Donnie Avery and WR Mark Clayton on injured reserve. This is yet another blow to the Rams already thin WR corps.

Bucs cut OG Vincent, add OT Barker

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL.com is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released 10-year veteran OG Keydrick Vincent. Vincent signed with the Bucs in July but didn't play last week due to back spasms. The Bucs also promoted OT Will Barker from the practice squad.

Fantasy Impact: The Bucs are renewing their roster, getting younger with every move. This one was no exception. This can be ignored in terms of fantasy since lineman have no value.
