Can we all just acknowledge that the the Yankees, Rays, Rangers, Giants, and Braves are all still alive to battle it out for the right to lose to the Phillies over the next three weeks?
Whoever wins the Giants-Braves series will get the honor of losing to the Philly in the NLCS, and whichever team ends up making out of the AL will be able to compete with their #1 starter (C.C., Price, or Lee) but then be severely behind the 8-ball in the other matchups.
So do you think the Phillies are feeling the pressure of being the favorite? Roy Oswalt sure doesn’t seem to be.
The 2010 MLB Playoffs everybody! Where you could make an All Star team out of the remaining teams and the Phillies would still probably be the favorites thanks to the Roy-Roy-Cole at the top of their rotation.
(And now we patiently await AJ’s incredulous rebuttal to my flippant over-simplification of the 2010 MLB playoffs…)
