Acquired via trade from New England, wide receiver RANDY MOSS returns to Minnesota where he spent the first seven years of his career (1998-2004). With the Patriots on a bye this week and the Vikings returning from a bye, Moss has a chance to become the ??? player since the bye was instituted in 1990 to play in 17 regular-season games in a season.
Answer after the jump.
Moss will become the 6th player to play in 17 regular season games assuming he does not miss one for the Vikings from here on out.
The players who appeared in 17 regular-season games in a season since the bye was instituted in 1990:
|1993||Chris Singleton||New England-Miami||17|
|1995||Dexter Carter||New York Jets-San Francisco||17|
|2004||Micah Ross||San Diego-Carolina||17|
|2009||Will Witherspoon||St. Louis-Philadelphia||17|
Jerry Rice and Randy Moss have a lot in common. I bet you didn’t realize they could have that in common too.
As you know, Jerod is participating in the 2010 P&G-sponsored Blogger Fantasy Football League, which is part of the Take It To The House program. In addition to competing for a trip to the Super Bowl, one of the perks Jerod received for participating was getting to spend a day at the NFL headquarters in New York. And that led to getting on the NFL’s media email list.
