Earlier today on Corporate Compliance Insights (another blog I manage), I posted the video of George Carlin’s epic Baseball versus Football comedy routine as part of the site’s “Coffee Break” section.
I also posted posted it to Reddit with the headline “If there is a better sports-related comedy routine than this, I’ve never heard it“. Well, that might not actually be true.
As Redditor Grimeden pointed out, there is at least one more legendary sports-related comedy routine that has to be in any discussion of “best ever”. It is, of course, Abbott and Costello’s classic “Who’s on First” bit. I’m not quite sure how I forgot about this one, but I did. Silly me.
Now the question is: which one is better? George Carlin or Abbott & Costello?
And to answer that, I present both videos and request your vote.
Also, if you think there is another sports-related comedy routine that is better than either of these two, please post a description and link in the comment section. Who knows, if we get enough “other” votes, I may heave to set up a bracket-style tournament to determine this one.
Here is the poll (as I assume most of you have seen both of these before) and the videos below for reference.

He also does a great one about playing football at Temple when they had a televised game against Hofstra.
I'm going to have to listen to that one. Anyone have a link?

A long time ago, I remember hearing Andy Griffith describe a football game as two bunch of guys chasing after a funny looking pumpkin in a pasture.
Billy Crystal did a great bit where he portrayed Cosell, Ali, Tommy Hearns, Hagler and Larry Holmes.
Also, John Caponera ‘s ESPY bit when he did Harry Carey…way, way better than anything done by Will Ferrell.
I agree with Dan. Bob Nelson's routine in the 80's was best.
