What We Can Expect From the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2010-11 Season

Hockey season is finally back in full swing.

Preseason has just begun, meaning the regular season is just two weeks away. The past three days has shown us some new faces that we could see on the Blackhawks’ roster this season as players show what they’ve got in hopes of making the final cut.

If you’ve followed the Hawks this off-season you know that this is a different looking Hawks team. It’s not radically different, but different nonetheless. We will be seeing a younger Hawks team with less experience and depth, but they won’t lack the intensity, both on the offensive and defensive side, that made them so effective last season.

K John Carney to Tryout for Saints

Update:
According to Adam Schefter, former Saints kicker John Carney will work out for N.O. this week.

Fantasy Impact:
The Saints made a quick move after losing in overtime to the Falcons today. Hartley missed a 29 yard field goal in overtime and that eventually led to a game winning field goal for the Falcons.



Leon Washington takes 2 to the house

Update:
Seattle Seahawks all purpose RB Leon Washington takes two to the house today against the Chargers.

Fantasy Impact:
The former Jet, Leon Washington, finally got to prove how dynamic he is to the fans of Seattle. The Seahawks won a big game today against the Chargers and moved to 2-1 on the season, maybe next week the Seahawks will find more ways to put the ball in their playmakers hands.



Revis Out

Update:
NY Jets CB Darrelle Revis is inactive today against the Dolphins.

Fantasy Impact:
Revis missed all of training camp because of a contract hold out and his body is showing it. Revis came up lame last weekend and will miss tonights game. Look for a familiar match-up between Antonio Cromartie and Brandon Marshall.



Charlie Batch looks Good

Veteran Batch makes most of opportunity, leads Steelers to road win over Bucs.

Fantasy Impact:

Batch had a good day, the best out of any Steelers relieve QB, he threw 3 tds against the Bucs as the Steelers routed them in a 38-13. Batch will start again next weekend and the Steelers are hoping for similar success.



Wow! Austin Collie

Update:
Austin Collie caught 12 passes for 171 yards and 2 Touchdowns against the Broncos.

Fantasy Impact:
With Pierre Garcon and Anthony Gonzalez injured, WR Austin Collie exploded today for the Colts. If Garcon and Gonzalez are injured again next week, Collie may be due for another big game against the Jaguars next week.



Michael Vick Is Back

Update:
The Philadelphia Eagles decision to start Michael Vick was a good one as the Eagles beat the Jaguars 28 to 3.

Fantasy Impact:
Vick was electric in today’s game throwing for 291 yards and 3 td as well as rushing for 24 yards and a touchdown. He looked like the Michael Vick of old but better, he hooked up with WR Jeremy Maclin for 2 tds and Desean Jackson for a touchdown and 153 yards. The Eagles face-off against Donovan McNabb and the Redskins, who lost to the Rams today.



Ernie Sims Hurt

Update: According to Jeff Mclane, Philadelphia Eagles LB Ernie Sims is getting X-rays on his ankle. Fantasy Impact: Sims got up slow after one play but he didn’t seem hurt. The x-rays are most likely pre-cautionary he should be good to go next weekend.



Edwards to miss first Quarter

According to an inside source, Jets announced that Braylon Edwards will be benched for the first quarter against Dolphins tonight

Fantasy Impact:
Jets receiver Braylon Edwards was pulled over for a Driving While Intoxicated over the past week and this is his punishment. Not much of a punishment but it will hinder his production.



Jackson return is Questionable

Nick Wagoner of Stlouisrams.com reports Rams RB Steven Jackson has an injured groin and is questionable to return.

Fantasy Impact:
Jackson looked good in this game and already had a 42 yard touchdown run on the day but his return is questionable.

Update: St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson has been injured during a pile-up in the second quarter against the Washington Redskins. It has been diagnosed as a groin injury and his return is questionable.

Fantasy Impact: This is bad news for fantasy owners as S-Jax is a number one back for all leagues. Even if he doesn't return he has already put up decent number (58 rushing yards, six receiving yards, touchdown). Still, owners should keep a close eye on him to make sure he's healthy enough to play with a groin injury on top of a knee injury.



Mike Williams is Back In

Seattle Seahawks WR Mike Williams has reentered the game against the Chargers.

Fantasy Impact:
Williams has a shoulder injury but got it looked at it and got right back out there. If the Seahawks plan on winning they need their big red zone target.



Peyton Hillis Has Huge Day

Cleveland Browns RB Peyton Hillis ran for a career high 144 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Impact:
The Browns choked in todays game and couldn’t hold off the Ravens after leading for awhile in the game. But one pleasant surprise for the Browns has been the play of Hillis. He had a big day against a tough defense today and with Jerome Harrison hurt, look for Hillis to get more carries.



Fred Taylor Hurt

New England Patriots RB Fred Taylor (toe) injured his toe in Week 3 and is questionable to return to the game, reports WEEI.com’s Christopher Price.

Fantasy Impact:
RB Fred Taylor left the game and did not return to action the rest of the game. Taylor injured his toe on a day where he had 6 carries for 16 yards. He serves no fantasy value as the Patriots use many different RB’s.



Jahvid Best Injured

Detroit Lions rookie running back Jahvid Best has left the game with a toe injury.

Fantasy Impact:

Last weeks Rookie of the Week RB Jahvid Best left the game in the third quarter with a toe injury. The injury didn’t look to serious but was kept out for the remainder of the game.
