Wells Status Still Uncertain

Email Post Email Post

Update: Kent Somers and Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic are reporting that Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt was careful about the words he said when speaking about Wells playing next week. He aid, "I can't sit here today and tell you I'm confident he'll play. I certainly am optimistic he'll play. But he has to show me in practice this week."

Fantasy Impact: This will probably be another game time decision for the Cardinals. The Cardinals have to start running the ball more for them to have a chance to win games this year. Anderson had a 42.5 passer rating last week. He is not the answer for them. If the Wells owner in you league has lost hope try trading for him. He will produce when healthy. If Wells does not play Hightower should be started

Okung Can Practice Next Week

Email Post Email Post

Update: Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times is reporting that the Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll said, "LT Russell Okung will begin on-land running this week". If that goes well then he can start to practice next week. He ran on a treadmill last week. Okung suffered a high ankle sprain in the second preseason game.

Fantasy Impact: The Seahawks need Okung healthy. Matt Hasselbeck has been pressured a lot due to the poor offensive line play. This has resulted in turnovers. The Seahawks offensive players Hasselbeck, Forsett, and Mike Williams all should be left on your bench this week verse the Chargers.

Leroy Hill has Strained Calf

Email Post Email Post

Update: Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times is reporting that the Seattle Seahawks LB Leroy Hill suffered calf strain this past Sunday. They have not said exactly how much time he will miss but it looks like a few weeks.

Fantasy Impact: Hill is a back up to David Hawthorne. This should not affect the Seattle defense. They have a tough match up verse the Chargers this week.

Peterson Playing On Third Downs

Email Post Email Post

Update: Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com is reporting that the Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson also played the role of a third down back in last week’s game. Peterson's blocking has improved enough to stay on the field for third down conversions.

Fantasy Impact: This is just another reason why Peterson is one of the top 2 running backs. Staying on the field in third and long situations will give him more opportunities to make plays.

Bush Has A Fractured Fibula

Update: Pat Yasinskas of ESPN is reporting that the New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush fractured his fibula in Monday night's game. He is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

Fantasy Impact: This just raises the fantasy value of the other Saints players. Pierre Thomas will not have to compete for carries. Bush had 9 receptions in 2 games and those will now get spread around more to Colston, Meachem, Henderson, and Shockey. Colston and Henderson are the Wr's here to own.

Braylon Edwards Arrested

Email Post Email Post

Update: ESPN.com is reporting that the New York Jets WR Braylon Edwards was arrested on a drunken driving charge in New York early Tuesday morning. He blew .16 on the Breathalyzer, which is twice the legal limit in New York. Edwards will be facing punishment for this from either the Jets or the league. This does fall under the substance abuse part of the CBA. He will be suspended only if is it is his second offense.

Fantasy Impact: The Jets are not happy with Edwards and expect him not to be playing on Sunday. The Jest receivers have not played well in general but this makes Jerricho Cotchery the clear number 1 WR. He is the only Jets WR worth starting. Santonio Holmes is now 2 games away from rejoining the Jets. Consider trading for him, as he will become the best WR on the Jets
