Bears’ Wright may be out for a month

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL.com is reporting that Chicago Bears rookie S Major Wright could miss a month due to a hamstring injury suffered in last week's game against the Dallas Cowboys. An MRI revealed a second-degree strain on the hamstring. This is the third time Wright has been injured since being drafted in April.

Fantasy Impact: Wright was splitting time with S Chris Harris, so Harris get an opportunity to be the team's full-time starter. Wright's career has been off to a rough start so far. Unless Harris gets hurt the Bears should be fine without him.

Ravens, Kindle reach agreement

Update: NFL.com is reporting that the Baltimore Ravens have reached an agreement with rookie LB Sergio Kindle. Kindle was the team's first round draft pick in 2010 out of the University of Texas. The complete details on the contract are unknown at this time.

Fantasy Impact: Both sides took their time to get the best deal possible since he probably won't be able to play this year after fracturing his skull in the offseason. However, Kindle did tweet that he would be on the field "sometime next month" (October). Either way, the Ravens defense looks to be doing just fine without him.

Song & Video Recommendation: “Photosynthesis” by Frank Turner

Email Post Email Post

One of my best friends shared the following video with me a few minutes ago with the note, “How much do you love this video???” I’d never seen it, nor heard the song, nor even heard of the artist, so I had to watch it before I could respond to his question.

And the I answer, after multiple viewings and listens, is that I love it.

So take a quick break from sports and watch this video, which features a song – “Photosynthesis” by Frank Turner – that I bet many other 20-somethings will be able to relate to.

Delhomme still out of practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: ESPN.com is reporting that Cleveland Browns QB Jake Delhomme is still not practicing as of Thursday. Delhomme hurt his ankle in the team's season-opener and has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain. He will most likely miss the team's week three game, and it is still unknown how much more time he will be unable to play.

Fantasy Impact: This means QB Seneca Wallace will most likely get the start against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Don't expect him to do much though as Baltimore's defense has been oustanding so far this year (again). For fantasy owners, he's not worth grabbing off the waiver wire quite yet as he will most likely be under pressure all game long.

Ochocinco not on injury report

Email Post Email Post

Update: Cincinatti Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco has not been listed on the team's injury report. Ochocinco tweeted Monday that he had a broken rib and on Wednesday joked about it to reporters. Apparently the Bengals don't think his injury is an issue.

Fantasy Impact: All signs point to Ochocinco starting on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. He has 12 catches for 187 in two career games against the Panthers and so far this year Carolina's defense has given up 257yards and four touchdowns through the air. Expect Ochocinco to put up big numbers this week.

S-Jax still on injury report

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson is still listed on the team's injury report with a sore right knee. The Rams opened practice Wednesday to prepare for their week three matchup against the Washington Redskins and Jackson was limited in participation. He was still suffering from the injury last week but still managed to play in week two against the Oakland Raiders and posted 125 total yards.

Fantasy Impact: This is probably just a precautionary measure to make sure the Rams' franchise player is healthy enough to play by Sunday. He still should remain a number one RB in all fantasy leagues even though he has yet to put up a touchdown. As QB Sam Bradford continues to develop, expect Jackson to get more running room as the defense will have to account for the passing game more and more in the weeks to come.

Harrison misses practice again

Email Post Email Post

Update: CBSsports.com is reporting that Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Harrison missed practice Thursday for the second straight day. Even if healthy enough to play against the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday, Head Coach Eric Mangini said that Harrison would get fewer carries because of his fumble issues.

Fantasy Impact: Whether he plays or not, fantasy owners should bench Harrison. The Ravens have played outstanding run defense so far this year and the Browns consistently struggle against them. So far the Ravens have allowed only 175 rushing yards and no rushing touchdowns. This is a bad matchup so sit Harrison unless you desperately need a second RB or flex option.

NCAA College Football Week 4 Spread Picks

Another huge weekend of college football is on tap.

Mike Stoops could be catching up to his brother in the coaching credibility department; Oregon State wastes a lot of money painting their practice field blue, as if that might actually help them win in Boise; and in the aftermath of Michigan State’s dramatic overtime win over Notre Dame, why isn’t there a basketball-like buzzer and some strobe lights that can go off once the play clock reaches zero?

That would make too much sense….

Andre Johnson Will Play Sunday

Email Post Email Post

Update: John Oehser a NFL writer is reporting that the Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson said,” He's playing Sunday." Johnson sustained an ankle injury in last week’s game.

Fantasy Impact: The ankle injury is not severe and Andre should have a very good game this week verse the Cowboys.

Delhomme Still Not Cleared

Email Post Email Post

Update: Tom Withers AP Sports Writer is reporting that the Cleveland Browns QB Jake Delhomme is still not cleared to practice after he injured his ankle in week 1. It looks like Seneca Wallace will start this week.

Fantasy Impact: Avoid all the Brown's players this week. The Browns are playing the Ravens and with Wallace starting they will have tough time moving the ball this week. The Ravens defense makes a very nice play this week for the Browns
