Update: The Associated Press is reporting that Indianapolis Colts running back Joseph Addai sustained a concussion during the team’s preseason game Thursday against the Green Bay Packers. Addai does not believe the injury is too serious, but instead stated that it felt like the wind got knocked out of him. The concussion occurred while Addai was making a tackle after a fumble by Peyton Manning.
Fantasy Impact: At this moment, it doesn’t look like Addai will miss any time because of this injury. However, depending on the grade of the concussion, this injury may have some lingering effects throughout the season. Running back Brian Westbrook suffered multiple concussions last season, injuries that made him miss significant time and some believed that it may have led to the end of his career. Especially with the NFL becoming more and more careful regarding head injuries, it should be interesting to see how the Colts address this situation.
