As you know sports fans, July is sloooow when it comes to sports news. So as we await the madness of September (baseball penant races, NFL and college football regular seasons) I’m taking a break every now and then to go off-topic with something random and hopefully entertaining.
In the past we’ve highlighted hilarious moments with such comedy luminaries as Louis CK, Zach Galifianakis, and Dave Chappelle. We’ve also counted down the most entertaining and clever re-cut movie trailers. Today, we democratize our humor somewhat by honoring a group of of fearless, intrepid, no-name men who also make the Internet a more entertaining (albeit less intelligent) place.
And from the title of this post you know to whom I am referring: dudes who get revenge on their girlfriends, or just girls in general, by pranking them and then posting the videos online to maximize the embarrassment.
I spent a portion of this morning combing through the endless archive of guy-pranking-girl videos online – many of which I was surprised to find are lame and completely unfunny – and came up with the following list of nine that I think are the best.
You may disagree. In fact I hope you do; dissent is encouraged here at MSF. And if that’s the case, post links to your favorite pranks in the comment section. As always, the more the merrier.
So here they are, counted down in reverse order of my own personal ranking, the Top 9 Revenge of the Turds Videos.
Note: it should go without saying that some of these videos are NSFW for the language that spews out of the girls’ mouths after they are pranked. It’s not always Sunday School approved.
9. Chick Pranked by Man in Gorilla Suit
Just a classic that is perfectly executed. Notice the patience exhibited not to blow his cover while the girl fumbles for the light switch, and for the tiki torch.
8. Tarantula in the Pizza Box Prank
I love how the guy follows her around with the pizza box afterwards just to torture her. And the slow-mo recap at about the 1:10 mark is great.
7. Exercise Ball Sneak Attack
This one is just mean. Really mean. But there’s a quick payoff so I’m posting it…and something tells me revenge was swift and just.
6. Strange Guessing Game Prank
Bonus points for the fact that this prank takes place in front of a room full of people, and she drops the pot right on the guy’s head.
5. Invisible Fence Prank
This one is relatively harmless. As usual with these Break.com videos, the slow motion replay at the end (with slowed down audio) is much better than the regular speed version and is what makes this video worth watching.
4. NERF Ambush Prank
This one makes because of the ingenuity involved, and the fact that one of the NERF arrows nails her right in the face. That makes it a success.
3. The Fake Head in Bed Prank
The best part of the this one is the slo-mo replay as she backs away from the head and falls off the bed.
2. The Toilet Man Prank
A tip of the cap to whoever came up with the idea for this prank…and then actually went through with it. A+ for execution.
And the #1 dude-pranking-girl video online…drumroll please…
1. Indecent Proposal Prank
I’ve always liked this one so I saved the best for last. And it’s really the only one with a happy ending.
I love her face when she comes out and sees what he’s holding. “What is that? Two pranks in one?” she asks. Needless to say, her tone quickly changes.
And, as an aside, for any lady who doesn’t think is a good proposal, I think it’s a great proposal. The dude gets to have some fun, you get your ring, and you both have a great story to tell. It’s perfect.
Then there’s the following prank, which isn’t perfect…at all. I saw this one multiple times while perusing countless videos for this post (and lowering my IQ about five points in the process). I just don’t see what’s so great about it.
Funnel Prank Pulled on Hot Chick by Toolio
The “Congratulations dude, you’re a tool and that wasn’t funny” Award goes to this turd sandwich. When someone figures out what is entertaining or clever about this prank, let me know:
Also filed in the not-as-funny-as-you-would-think-based-on-how-many-times-it’s-been-done category: flour in the blow dryer and ice buckets dumped on people showering. Just not a lot of creativity or degree of difficulty for my tastes.
Anyway, now you’ve seen my favorite guy-on-girl pranks. (And admit guys, you enjoy watching attractive girls get a little comeuppance.)
The comment section is yours to debate the list, post other videos, or to completely overlook the point and criticize me for the spelling/grammar error that I’m sure is still in this post despite two proofreads (OCD commenters, you know who you are).
