NBA Finals Recap (Game 2): Jesus Shuttlesworth Goes Off

NBA Finals 2010 (Game 2): Celtics – 104/Lakers – 93

Well people, I hope you have your popcorn with you, because this was one hell of a game!

In Game 1, Ray Allen had 4 fouls during the early 3rd quarter, but in Game 2, Suga Ray had 27 points entering the 3rd quarter!

I can admit that I was dead wrong when I said the ONLY thing the Celics can do in this series, is slow down the Lakers in the paint.

Now, what would another formula be for the Celtics to win? Say, a triple-double from their boy Rondo, and hmm..maybe an NBA Finals record, 8 three-pointers by Ray Allen?

Yeah, that should get the job done, because it sure as hell did last night!

ray-allen-finalsNow, from the get-go, this game was a heavyweight battle, as there were a total of 22 lead changes in the game. The first half was vintage Finals basketball, as we witnessed Rondo do what he wanted, Ray Allen catch fire, and Kobe make two miraculous plays in one.

Then, as we headed into the second half, Jesus Shuttlesworth (Ray Allen’s character name in He Got Game) had 27 points! Are you kidding me?

Oh, and as for the Pau/KG battle…things were very nonexistent on that front, this show was stolen by Rondo and Ray. The second half opened up all Lakers, as Ron Artest and Bynum made a couple of good offensive plays and brought LA back into the game, as they were down by 9 at the half.

Heading into the 4th, this thing was a gridiron match. Let me remind you, at this point the Celtics are shooting around 70% from three, as the Lakers are shooting under 25% from deep.

The Lakers made a few adjustments, and actually took the lead in the 4th. How did this thing end? A 16-4 run by the Celts for their first victory in the 2010 Finals.
