The Free Agency NBA Summit: Featuring LeBron, D-Wade, and Others

Didn’t hear?

The NBA’s greatest under-30 players – LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Joe Johnson – are meeting sometime in the very near future…and you’ll never guess what it’s about…

Okay, you got it.

Yes, it’s the 2010 NBA free-agency period, the one topic that seems to be overshadowing the rest of the 2010 NBA playoffs like a storm on a sunny day.

Well, according to a report by the Sun Sentinel, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Joe Johnson and Chris Bosh all plan to meet discussing a very hot topic: where each of the 3 stars will land this summer.

Is it just me, or does this seem like a sort of NBA summit? I mean, this little talk could also include guys like Carlos Boozer or Stoudemire, no?

Why does a meeting draw such attention? Well simply because this meeting will give each individual involved  a firm look and idea of what is going to happen this July, and will set the NBA’s next 5-10 years, in stone!

According to Mr. Wade, the boys have been having conversations regularly, but have been keeping it on the DL:

“[Free agency] has been three years coming,” Wade said. “We’ve discussed it prematurely, at different times. [But] you don’t know what guys are thinking and where they’re going. I think we’ll all sit down, and before one of us makes a decision, all of us will have spoken to each other and [listened to the] thinking.

“A lot of decisions [will be based on] what other players are willing to do and what other guys want to do. So it’s not just a ‘me’ situation here. We all have to look and see what each other is thinking.”

This is not only a matter of championships, but it’s also a business matter, no? What comes with business? Money. Respect. And last but not least, loyalty; and that is where Wade had something to say about the Chicago Bulls:

“I think the biggest question that you think about has to be loyalty,” said Wade, who added that he has been a Bulls fan for a long time. “I know one thing about Miami: It is a very loyal organization. I see what they do with their players when their players get done with the game of basketball … how loyal they are. I don’t know about the Bulls.”

lebron-d-wadeWade said it appears to him that the Bulls don’t measure up to the Heat in the loyalty department.

“I see Michael Jordan is not there, Scottie Pippen is not there. … You know, these guys are not a part [of the organization],” Wade said. “Things like that. So that is probably one of the biggest things for me, because I am a very loyal person.”

Not only is this making half of the reports looking dumb because Wade was supposedly going to Chi-Town, but now it seems like in Wade’s head that the Heat have the better organization.

So this ’10 summer talk is heating up. Who else might be included in this meeting? What will the word be? Follow me on Twitter to get the 411, and stay up to date!

Til then, later fools!

Wade stays in Miami. Lebron stays in Cleveland. Who cares about Bosh/Booozer/JJ

Who cares about Bosh? Boozer? Joe? You serious?
These are the guys that are by your side at the end of the season, when you're saying "Thank god
we sign/traded him", because they are the difference makers, the robin to the batmans.
Imagine a Bosh and Wade tandem, or a Stoudemire and Wade tandem?
Each player this summer is VERY important.
