Crayton wants out of Dallas

Email Post Email Post

Update: Patrick Crayton wants to be released from the Dallas Cowboys, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com. Crayton said Friday the team is "messing with people's careers and people's lives."

Fantasy Impact: The 31-year-old Crayton was probably miffed after the Cowboys drafted Dez Bryant, who will be the team's No. 3 receiver and will also return punts. Crayton now has no real role on the team.

Chad Ochocinco Makes His Biggest Fan’s Dream Come True

The NFL takes a lot of well-deserved heat for its players making the wrong kinds of headlines far too often. Sadly, the bad press often overshadows the many positive stories that could and should be written.

Chad Ochocinco has always been a guy who has stumbled back and forth across the tenuous line between troublemaking diva and well-meaning entertainer during his up and down NFL career. He’s never gotten into trouble off the field, but he certainly has caused locker room issues that have made him a Queen City headache for Marvin Lewis on more than one occasion.

Today, we recognize the “good” Chad, because he recently did what you hope to see people in his position do: bring joy and opportunity to those less fortunate, in this case Ruben St. Hilaire, his #1 fan.

Step Off the Ledge! History Suggests a Strong June Turnaround for the White Sox

Email Post Email Post
white-sox-logo

When the Chicago White Sox won on Opening Day, I called KVB and said, “We’re going undefeated!” He proceeded to agree and we started making plans to meet up in Chicago for the playoffs (apparently forgetting that the season is 162 games long and that White Sox always lose when we’re in the ballpark…)

Unfortunately, that moment was the high point of the first two months of the 2010 baseball season.

The White Sox lost the next four games and have been fighting just to get their heads above water ever since. As things stand today, with the White Sox having completed their April and May slate of games, the South Siders are a pathetic 22-28, 8.0 games behind Minnesota in the AL Central.

Yet all hope is not lost for the 2010 season…at least not for me…at least not yet.

2010 NBA Finals TV Schedule – Lakers v Celtics

Email Post Email Post

It has arrived my friends; the 2010 NBA Finals are here.

If I asked about 100 people who weren’t die hard fans of a specific team to pick the two teams who they would most like to see be in the Finals this year, I’m guessing that 70 would say the Lakers and Celtics.

Well guess what, those people got their wish.

NBA Finals Prediction: L.A. Lakers And Kobe Will Continue To Roll Over Boston

Email Post Email Post

Kobe Bryant’s clutch performance and Ron Artest’s 25 points shut down Phoenix and lifted Los Angeles to the NBA Finals.

The Lakers were tested for the second time in this post-season, but with a calm approach, they moved on.

Boston, you’re next.  Get over it.

Just like the Lakers did with Oklahoma City, Utah, and Phoenix, they will squeeze the life out of Boston, because Bryant and the Lakers are simply the better team.

Los Angeles will bring home its fifth trophy in 11 years, while Boston’s title run will come to an abrupt end.

Game One of the Stanley Cup Final Was a Precursor to an Exciting Series

Email Post Email Post

It was a crazy first game of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals. Goal after goal was scored. No team had a two goal lead during the game. It was a defenses’ nightmare.

The Chicago Blackhawks took game one 6-5, but it wasn’t the strong showing the Hawks had in mind, at least defensively.

It takes a lot of luck to win at Indy, so it’s not surprising that one of the luckiest guys in the world, Mr. Ashley Judd had no trouble capturing the good graces of fate for 200 miles Sunday.

When Dario Franchitti won, a lot of people in the stands were disappointed.

Ashley Judd was not, in fact she went shoeless across the asphalt to meet her husband who won his second career Indy 500.

Celebrities descended upon the circle city Saturday for Indy 500 parties and meet and greets. It’s all part of IndyCar’s efforts, in partnership with title sponsor IZOD, to reach a younger, more hip demographic.

Who better to create buzz than the Kardashians. Kim and Kourtney Kardashian attended red carpet parties on monument circle in downtown Indianapolis Saturday night.

Other notables to make appearances were actor Mark Wahlberg and former Olympian Bruce Jenner.

Helio Castroneves, like superstars in other professional sports, has the rare ability to outperform his competitors when it matters most.

At a time when a few are calling for more American drivers at the Indy 500, there is no brighter star or better ambassador for the sport than the  35-year-old native of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Danica sells merchandise, Helio makes people love the sport.

Like Michael Jordan, Castroneves’ ability to focus his efforts at precisely the right time equals his natural ability as an athlete and driver.

Turbo Boosts. Although the official name for them at this year’s Indy 500 is “Push to Pass”.

If you’ve ever played Nintendo’s MarioKart you know that a powerboost at the end of a race can be the difference between winning and loosing.

IndyCar’s version is an extra 5-20 horsepower that lasts for 18 seconds, drivers can utilize them by pressing the overtake button no more than 15 times in Sunday’s race. [Read more...]

Steve Nash.

No matter what happens in Game 6 of the Lakers/Suns series tonight, no matter who hits a last second shot or how many body parts are broken, none of it matters.

When someone has as much heart, as much pride, and the fight of a lion like Steve Nash does, respect is inevitable. What Nash wants now though, more than anything, is a ring.

And the fact of the matter is that Steve Nash might not win a ring this year; heck, Steve Nash might not ever win a ring, but you can take this to the bank:

When it’s all said and done, Steve Nash will  be the one of the greatest players EVER,
with or without a ring. And if he doesn’t get one, he very well could be the best player never to do so.
