LeBron to Joakim: Cavs will be a “different monster” in playoffs

There are two people most of us care about in the NBA playoffs. One being Kobe Bryant, and the other being LeBron James. Simple as that.

Can’t make an argument, can’t discuss it. It’s just a fact.

Kobe’s already gotten some attention, so now it’s time to give some to the King himself.

We know the jist of the whole “LeBron-playoff” scenario. It’s winning a ring for the King. Plain and simple. That’s all matters.

But what’s really on his mind?

Well Tony and Mike from ESPN’s PTI show were lucky enough to bring in LeBron himself for 5 good minutes. Here it is for those who missed it:

CAUTION: SCARY STUFF (if you’re a Bulls fan anyway…)

When LeBron was asked about what he had thought about this time of year, this is what he had to say:

“I am serious,” James said about his sober demeanor. “This is the playoffs.”

No doubt LeBron and co. are ready for the challenges ahead. LeBron has also stated that he’s ‘for this moment for a while. And from past experiences, I know this man can do whatever he sets out to.

When LeBron was asked about Joakim, and the Bulls, he had this to say:

“We’re ready for the challenge,” James said. “I think Noah’s a really good player. He’s a really good talent. But, you know, he asked for us a couple weeks ago and he got us. So we’re ready. It’s a different monster they’re going to be playing against on Saturday.”

Different monster? Are you kidding Joakim?  Did you really ask to face the Cavs? Uh oh…I smell trouble brewing in Chicago.

So LeBron, how does it feel to have a Hall of Famer like Shaq on your team?

“He’s been there,” James said. “Shaq has definitely played at the highest level. He’s played with some of the greats. To have one of the greats on our team, on our side, this time around, it adds a dimension to our team that we haven’t had in the past. It’s going to help us a lot.”

So the 25-year old phenom who is almost sure to lock up his 2nd MVP, feels that his team has the best chance EVER to win a ring. That’s reason to be scared.

So LeBron, can you leave us with any other words before you go?

“I’ve been waiting personally on this since Game 6 of the Orlando series,” he said. “It kind of hurts for a long time. You kind hold that in for all summer and all regular season to get back to this point. I’ll be happy Saturday when I get the opportunity to release it.”
