Fantasy Baseball: Observations from Opening Day

The baseball gods must have been looking down on me yesterday because around 930 am I started to get dizzy, then I had a headache and was vomiting.  Around 11 30 am I decided to go home from work, and was violently ill.

Around 1 pm though, I was back to my old self in front of the TV flipping around 6 baseball games.

Here are some of the observations I saw from my opening day…..

mlb opening day fantasy observationsYankees still have issues in the bullpen

Halladay could make a run at 25 – 30 wins

Albert Pujols back looks pretty dam good

Colby Rasmus is the 2nd coming of Grady / Edmonds

Royals bullpen stinks

Johan looked back in Ace form

Maybe just maybe Garrett Jones wasn’t a fluke last year

The Dodgers must have the fattest pitching staff in baseball

The White Sox sure do look like a solid 25 man roster

The Padres and Astros lineups are very weak…

Jason Heyward’s home run is still going….

Lou Pinella might not make it out of April

Ubaldo Jimenez looks like he is ready to move into the elite starter class

If Weeks and Gomez can get on base, Braun and Fielder could both have monster RBI seasons

Franklin Morales and Neftali Feliz looked very shaky in the respective bullpen roles

Shawn Marcum went from no hitter to no decision

Jason Frasor went from locking up the game to a blown save

I still think the Rangers are overrated
