All that minor league hockey coach Jim Playfair asks for is that the officials ensure that his last name is the rule of law on the ice.
I just wish you guys would make sure that all the players play fair, is I’m sure what was going through his mind starting at about the 3:42 mark in the video below.
Well, that and $&#^@! *@&#^! $%@$…$$&@%$!!! Or something like that.
Just watch the video. The anchors on SportsCenter were having a lot of fun with it this morning. The coach goes nucking futs and it’s hilarious.
Video: Minor League Hockey Coach Jim Playfair Goes Crazy
If you want the background that led to Jim Playfair’s outburst, here is the description from Sean Leahy at Puck Daddy.
To set the scene, Abbotsford’s J.D. Watt(notes) was chasing a puck into the corner and collided with Hamilton goaltender Cedrick Desjardins(notes). Referee Jamie Koharski (son of former NHL zebra Don) whistled a penalty on the play. As Watt was skating to the penalty box he learned that instead of an interference call he’d been assessed five minutes for charging, along with a 10-minute game misconduct. Watt did not like the call to the extent that he needed to be escorted off the ice by a linesman. Koharski then skated over and explained the decision to Playfair, who took his disagreement with the call to another level:
Yeah, I’d say he took it another level.
For what it’s work Coach Playfair, MSF salutes you. There is nothing better than waking up early on a Sunday morning to get some Final Four content ready and then serendipitously find a laugh out loud video to post of a coach completely losing it and going out of his mind.
