Update: According to the Indianapolis Colts' QB Peyton Manning underwent procedure to relieve pain in his neck caused by a pinched nerve, the Colts announced on Wednesday. The condition "has existed intermittently for the past four years, but at no time did it interfere with his training, practice or playing regimen," the team said in a statement."While it never has affected Peyton’s activity on or off the field, the Colts’ medical staff, after post-playoff examination, thought it best to resolve the situation now." Email Post Email Post

The NHL deadline came and went, and the Chicago Blackhawks didn’t make a move to acquire another goaltender.

After many trade rumors stating that the Hawks were interested in Florida Panther goaltender Tomas Vokoun, senior advisor for the Blackhawks Scotty Bowman said the Hawks would not be acquiring the veteran goaltender.

[The Hawks' front office] is laughing about it,” Bowman said on Toronto’s 590-AM. “They’ve got their goalies in place right now.

“You look at what their record is. They’re not out to make a … somebody’s trying to push Vokoun into Chicago. That’s impossible to happen. There’s no chance that would happen.”

The news comes as some sort of disappointment for Hawk fans who believe the current goaltenders are not the right men to carry the Blackhawks deep into the playoffs.

If you are a football fan, and especially if you are a Rich Eisen fan (in my humble opinion, he’s by far the best of the NFL studio hosts), this will probably be the most entertaining 4:35 of your day.

The part at the end where they juxtapose Eisen with the actual Combine participants is classic.

Enjoy.
