Video: The Ballad of Brett Favre

All of the Brett Favre fans out there (attention Christophs…) are going to love this.

It’s called “The Ballad of Brett Favre: I Will If You Let Me and was written by Gayle Cuevas and performed by Kevin and Chris Cuevas. (Hat tip to Deadspin for this one.)

And yes, it’s exactly what you might expect from some musical Mississippians who are proud of their state’s most celebrated sports hero.

In addition to viewing the lyrics, it looks like you can also buy the actual CD version of the song for $6.95 at TheBalladOfBrettFavre.net.

ballad of brett favre

Nice shorts dude...

I know at least one family that will be buying a CD for every car…which will go great with all of those Favre Jets jerseys, but at least be relevant for longer.

All kidding aside, that’s a hell of a job on the tribute song by the Cuevas family and I’m sure they’ll sell a lot of copies to the throngs of Favre adorers out there.

Because there are a lot of them.

And they are loyal.

Really loyal, as I’ve come to find out.

If you can inspire massive amounts of people who cheer for a historically great team with a great tradition to give up that team and follow you to said team’s arch rival – as many Packers fans did in migrating to becoming Vikings fans when Favre went to Minnesota – then I guess you deserve your very own tribute song.

Congrats Brett. They let you…and you did.
