Owens could sign with Bengals

Email Post Email Post

Update: Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting on his Twitter page that Bengals wideout OchoCinco is convinced that free agent receiver Terrell Owens will sign with the team this offseason.

Fantasy Impact: OchoCinco isn't the best source, but given the team is in need of another wideout with the death of Chris Henry, this could make sense.  Owens is clearly at the end of his career, so it will be interesting to see if the Bengals want to go with a young guy or take a shot on the aging vet.

Davis broke wrist in final game

Update: The Palm Beach Post is reporting that Dolphins rookie Vontae Davis broke his left wrist in the team's final game against the Steelers.  Davis left the game with the injury.

Fantasy Impact: Davis has been wearing a cast on the broken wrist, but it should not impact his ability to participate in offseason workouts.

The Unfortunate Truth

Matt Lawrence from Dallas Sports Fans (the illegitimate child of the Sports Fans Network) here with an investigative report that just may knock your socks off.

We all know that Jerod Morris purports himself as a big time Hoosier but I have uncovered some evidence that would suggest that Jerod Morris may actually be a fan of the Purdue Boilermakers. I have indisputable video evidence that Jerod Morris is no doubt a fan of Matt Painter if not anything else.

Jets likely to ink DL Douglas

Email Post Email Post

Update: The New York Daily News is reporting that the Jets are expected to re-sign pending free agent Marques Douglas this offseason.  Douglas (DL) is a guy who came to New York with head coach Rex Ryan from Baltimore, and proved his worth last season.

Fantasy Impact:  Douglas is likely to stay with the Jets as Ryan has made it clear he is fond of the defensive lineman's abilities to make big plays.  Look for a deal to get done.

49ers not interested in WR Marshall

Update:  The Santa Rosa Press Democrat's Matt Maiocco is reporting on his Twitter page that the 49ers will most likely have no interest in trading for Broncos wideout Brandon Marshall.

Fantasy Impact: The Niners have Michael Crabtree who they used a first round draft pick on, and is the WR of te future, and the last thing this team needs is Marshall and his attitude problems.

Ravens want Mason back

Email Post Email Post

Update:  Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has made it know the team will do whatever they can to entice wide receiver Derrick Mason back for another season.  Mason is a free agent, and has also thought about retiring.

Fantasy Impact:  Mason won't pass up the money if it's there from the Ravens.  It will be a matter of the two sides coming to an agreement, but expect Mason to remain in Baltimore.  eason.

Pennington wants to stay in Miami

Email Post Email Post

Update: The Miami Herald is reporting that Dolphins quaterback Chad Pennington (shoulder) has decided to make it his priority to stay with the team next season.

Fantasy Impact: Pennington had yet another season ending injury last year, and watched Chad Henne come in and do a nice job.  The team has Henne, Pat White, and Tyler Thigpen on the roster, so clearly the team needs to determine what direction they want to go. One thing is all but certain, and that is Henne will most likely be the team's starter heading into 2010.

IU, Purdue Meet Tonight on Boilermakers’ Road to the Big Dance

IU-Purdue

While it is no longer a rivalry that inspires curiosity around the country, IU-Purdue will always be one of the most important games on the calendar for Hoosier and Boilermaker fans.

This evening the two schools face eachother for the first time this season. Matt Painter brings his 8th-ranked Boilermakers down to Bloomington for a 6:00 CT meeting with Tom Crean and Indiana. (The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.)

We can safely assume that Crean’s young Hoosier squad will go a second straight season with no dancing in March. Painter and the Boilers, on the other hand, are actually inspiring something rarely heard around West Lafayette: legitimate Final Four talk.

Email Post Email Post

Well everyone, the NBA season is nearing it’s halfway point, which can only mean a few things:

  1. NBA ALL STAR BREAK
  2. NBA Trade Deadline (FEB.18th)

Now with the All-Star rosters set, and contestants for the 3-point and dunk contests ready, we begin to ask the usual question that everyone asks this time of year:

Who is going to be traded?

I may not know who exactly is going to be moved, but what I can tell you is that the following are the most likely to be moved somewhere, and I’d say there is a good chance that all will be moved before the deadline.

Enjoy.

Burress Vows Return to NFL

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to the New York Post, during a jail-house interview, ex-New York Giants' WR Plaxico Burress, announced he would return to the NFL. Burress, 33, is serving a two-year sentence for attempted gun possession in the upstate Oneida Correctional Facility, a medium-security detention center. “I will play again,” Burress said firmly. Asked if he gets to keep in shape while locked up to prepare for a possible comeback, Burress said, “I work [out] about four days a week. It’s not LA Fitness or Bally’s, but I do push-ups, sit-ups,” Burress said. “I make do.”

Wayne Scared of Alligators and Sharks?!

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to the Indy Star, Indianapolis Colts' WR Reggie Wayne isn't afraid a lot, even when it comes to ball-hawking safeties or burly linebackers. Wayne, however, is afraid of a couple of other things. "There are only two things I'm scared of," he said Tuesday. "Alligators and sharks. Either one of those, I have to be near water. And that's where you will not find me."
