Cleveland Cavaliers Obtain Antawn Jamison in 3-Team Trade

According to numerous reports, the Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired F Antawn Jamison from Wizards in a 3 team-deal between the Cavs, the L.A. Clippers, and the Washington Wizards.

Here are the details of the Jamison-to-the-Cavs trade according to ESPN.com:

Sources told ESPN.com that the deal will also send Zydrunas Ilgauskas’ $11.5 million expiring contract and a first-round draft pick from Cleveland to Washington.

The deal also calls for the Wizards to receive Al Thornton from the Clippers, sources said, with L.A. getting forward Drew Gooden, whom Washington acquired in last week’s trade with Dallas.

Besides Jamison, Cleveland will also acquire Clippers guard Sebastian Telfair.

The trade obviously ends the speculation that Amar’e Stoudemire might re-join Shaquille O’Neal alongside The King in Cleveland. In Antawn Jamison, the Cavaliers get a veteran presence who is averaging 20.5 points and 8.8 rebounds.

No way Drew! The Cavs got exactly what they needed with Jamison, a stretch forward who can guard in scenarios against Rashard’s, Odom’s, Rasheed’s.etc

Great acquisition of Telfair, and AJ for basically a first rounder..getting Z back in 30 days I think.

    Cavs did the right thing!

I don’t think it is a bad trade, but I also don’t think at the end of the season LeBron will resign so he can spend the next five years with Jamison. Jamison is not the #2 player that LeBron needs.

LeBron has an extreme chance at winning a ring…meaning Ferry did everything to keep him.
Cavs are favorites now, if they don’t win, you can’t blame it on Ferry. He did his job.
