[Editor's Note: Throughout the day I participate in email conversations with friends about hot sports topics. One of my friends in particular is very active in these conversations. This is that friend.

How many times have we talked about it? Winners love taking risks when prudent. The onside kick was brilliant.
It would be wrong to suggest Caldwell’s stoicism indicates a lacking of passion, but when will NFL teams stop recruiting coaches from the morgue?
In a separate debate, the Dungy coaching tree has to be the most overrated, emotionally repressed coaching tree in the NFL. Let’s review what the Dungy group is known for:
- Implementing the “Tampa-2″ despite the defense being invented by Lane Kiffin’s father (Monte),
- Dungy’s Super Bowl on the back of the best QB in NFL history (Manning),
- Lovie Smith introducing the “Tampa-2″ to St. Louis when the Rams lost to the Patriots in the SB (curiously, did the Rams get to the Super Bowl on the back of the Tampa-2 or the “greatest show on turf”?).
Please don’t confuse this as an attempt to belittle Dungy-Smith-Caldwell. They’re accomplished coaches, rather i am just asking a couple questions about those accomplishments.

Who is Wendell Willkie? Wouldn’t you like to know.
The pseudonym was inspired by the very Wendell Willkie who is an Indiana University legend and democrat turncoat who ran for president against FDR in 1940; however, the man behind the pseuodonym shall otherwise remain nameless.

So go, converse. WW will undoubtedly be back soon with more email ramblings…
