Update: According to the National Football Post, the Titans will not be retaining defensive end Jevon Kearse. Coach Jeff Fisher solidified it when he stated, "He did a great job for us over the years. He came in and was prepared to play and ready to play and played hard. But in his case we're going to commit to the younger players."

Fantasy Impact:  Kearse won't find a ton of takers, but he may land in some team's camp.

white sox trade rumor - gordon beckham for adrian gonzalez

I have to admit, reading about this on Twitter last night shocked me.

One of the hot rumors making the rounds right now is that White Sox GM Ken Williams is so enamored with Padres 1B Adrian Gonzalez that he might – might – be willing to include 2B Gordon Beckham in a deal for the lefty power hitter.

Via the fine folks at MLB Trade Rumors (my favorite site for important baseball news and rumors like this), who wrote about the White Sox interest in trading for Adrian Gonzalez last night, I stumbled upon an article by Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com that discusses how well Jake Peavy is fitting in with the White Sox (Yeeesss!).

In the article, Peavy is quoted expressing his desire to bring his former teammate to the South Side. He has also reportedly discussed it with Williams, who we all know would probably trade his soul for a young, power hitting, lefty bat.

Update: The New York Giants have extended a second-round tender to wide receiver Domenik Hixon, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.  Hixon will be due $1.75M next season.

Browns to meet with QB Anderson

Email Post Email Post

Update: The Cleveland Plain Dealer, is reporting that Browns president Mike Holmgren is expected to meet with quarterback Derek Anderson's agents at the NFL combine this week.  The topic of discussion will be the $2M roster bonus that Anderson is owed come March 19th. Surely the Browns aren't going to pay that.

Fantasy Impact:  Expect Holmgren to re-negotiate Anderson's contract or release him.  Anderson knows that he is not a starter which he has proved over the past two season.  What the Browns do with Brady Quinn remains to be seen.

Seattle letting Burleson walk

Email Post Email Post

Update: The Seattle Seahawks appear willing to let wide reciever Nate Burleson test the open market, according to ESPN.com.

Fantasy Impact:  When healthy, Burleson has shown he is capable of being a nice No. 2 option.  He will clearly find another job, but it will be interesting to see what happens in Seattle as they are also trying to figure out what to do with Deion Branch.
