NFL Week 17 Betting: Spread and Pick for 49ers-Rams, Titans-Seahawks

This post is from 2009. Here are the NFL Week 17 Picks for 2010.

NFL Betting – NFC West Spreads Picks

San Francisco 49ers @ St. Louis Rams

Sportsbetting.com Odds (Sportsbetting.com Reviews): 49ers -7

The St. Louis Rams and San Francisco 49ers won’t be going to the playoffs in 2009 but they will still be looking to finish off the year on a winning note.

While the Rams are playing for a high draft pick next year, which will be the first overall pick in the 2010 Draft, the 49ers have a decent shot to finish .500.

The Rams have been completely hapless this year and their only win has come against the Detroit Lions. They are lucky they got that win or they could have found themselves in the conversation for being one of the worst teams in NFL history.

The 49ers are a much better team than the Rams, even though they won’t be going to the playoffs. The 49ers have a good running game with Frank Gore and a couple of decent weapons in the pass game with Pro Bowl tight end Vernon Davis and up-and-coming wideout Michael Crabtree.

The Rams don’t have the talent to compete against anyone right now and unless the 49ers are half asleep for this contest, they’ll get this win rather easily.

NFL Picks: 49ers -7

Tennessee Titans @ Seattle Seahawks

NFL betting line: Titans -4.5

The Seattle Seahawks have had a very bad year but the end is not near. Sure, the end to the season is coming but the Seahawks appear to be a team that is ready to endure two or three more years of bad losing – at least.

The Seahawks have a lot of work to do as far as rebuilding the team and there are some serious questions towards whether Matt Hasselbeck still has the arm strength to be the quarterback of this team.

The Seahawks are going to mail in another effort on Sunday in a game that means nothing to them but if there can be one moral victory, slowing down Chris Johnson might be one.

Johnson is 130 yards short of becoming a 2000-yard rusher this year and the Titans are surely going to play hard to help him get there. Also, the Titans have an opportunity to get to 8-8 after an 0-6 start, which would be very big for them heading into next year.

This game should be very one-sided.

Sports Tips:  Titans -4.5
