Update: Mike Klis of The Denver Post reports that the Denver Broncos promoted Don Martindale from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator. Martindale is replacing Mike Nolan who left after one season and is now defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins. He becomes the Broncos' fifth defensive coordinator in five years. "Wink definitely deserves this," said Broncos coach Josh McDaniels. "He's earned this opportunity. Our system won't change, our philosophy won't change. He's a very aggressive coach. This is a great day for the Denver Broncos."
Fantasy Impact: Martindale, 46, has been a linebackers coach since arriving in the NFL in 2004 with the Oakland Raiders. He has not been a defensive coordinator since 2003 at Western Kentucky.
