Update: According to the Denver Post, Broncos WR Eddie Royal (neck, head) has been ruled out of Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. With Broncos WR Brandon Marshall and TE Tony Scheffler suspended for disciplinary reasons, the team has promoted Matt Willis from the practice squad as the #4 WR behind Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Stokley, and Brandon Lloyd. Denver needs a win and a lot of help to earn a wild-card berth for the playoffs.
Fantasy Impact: Royal has not lived up to his sophomore expectations after a solid rookie season. Broncos QB Kyle Orton will have to rely on TE Daniel Graham and a makeshift receiving core against a bad Chiefs defense. Gaffney had a big game last week in Philadephia with 7 catches, 69 yards and 2 TDs, and is expected to take up the majority of the load left by Marshall and Royal. A dark horse could be Lloyd, who made his first four receptions of the season last week and is more of a deep threat than Gaffney.
