ABC News Report: Tiger and Elin to Get Divorce

I haven’t written about Tiger Woods since Saturday, which I am sure thrills many of you who have grown sick of this story, and this post won’t take long. Just a quick update which comes pretty close to putting a nice little bow on marriage part of the whole thing.

And that is that the marriage probably won’t be a marriage for much longer.

ABC News is now reporting that Elin and Tiger will be getting a divorce, obviously at Elin’s behest, saying that a “divorce is 100 percent on.”

tiger-elin-divorceThe news that Elin will divorce Tiger certainly doesn’t surprise me, and I’m not sure how it could surprise anyone, with the sheer volume of sordid stories that we have all been force fed about Tiger’s extramarital bedroom exploits.

Here is an excerpt from the ABC News story:

“It would not appear that Elin Nordegren is going to be standing by her man,” Kate Coyne, senior editor at People Magazine, told “Good Morning America.” “Sources have told us that Elin has told us this marriage is over and she is looking to divorce.”

Assuming that this report becomes reality, the only questions left to answer are:

  • When will Tiger come out of hiding and make a public appearance?
  • When (if) will he discuss any of this?
  • When will he play golf again?

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Luckily we will soon have the NFL Playoffs and ultimately March Madness to drown out whatever sound is left from this story.

And then it will be Master’s time. As I said on Saturday, I still expect Tiger to play. We’ll see.
