Rodgers Back to Studly Form

Update: Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, coming off his worst performance last week in Chicago, bounced back with his best game of the season Sunday at Pittsburgh.  Last week against the Bears, Rodgers failed to throw a TD pass for the first time in 2009, and he also lost a fumble.  Yesterday, he exploded for 383 yards passing and 3 TDs, exploiting the Steelers' Polamalu-less secondary from the start.  He also rushed for 22 yards and a TD.  As a rusher, Rodgers leads all NFL QBs in yards (293) and TDs (4).  He has already tied his career high in TD passes (28) and is 38 yards from reaching 4,000 yards passing for the 2nd straight season.

Fantasy Impact: Because of his versatility as a rusher, Rodgers is the leading scorer in all of fantasy football this season.  In 2008, he was the highest scoring player in fantasy football in most league formats (tied with Drew Brees).  Yet, it's Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady who get most of the attention.  The other plus with Rodgers from a fantasy perspective is the fact that the Packers team is not too good that they play meaningless games at the end of the season and rest their starters for the playoffs as is the case with the Colts, Saints, and often the Patriots.  Owners of Manning and Brees will be faced with precarious situations in weeks 16 and 17 as their teams have locked up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs and will likely rest their star QBs. As for Rodgers, he faces a bad Seahawks defense in week 16 and should put up huge numbers once again.
