Update: The New York Daily News is reporting that Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks does not need an MRI on his hamstring, and Nicks claims his hamstring is feeling fine.

Fantasy Impact: Nicks will play Sunday, and he has looked very solid the past few weeks.  Fantasy owners should be perfectly confident deploying him for Week 16.

Fantasy Impact: This isn't the first practice Jackson has missed this season, and chances are he will be able to play on Sunday.

Update: Steelers reporter Jim Wexell is reporting that Troy Polamalu's MRI results on his left knee from today were encouraging, but he still missed practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact: Chances are Polamalu is going to miss Week 16, and that is a good sign for Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

Update: According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune's Jeff Duncan, Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey (toe) practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact: There has been no official word as to whether or not Shockey is going to play in Week 16, but it is lookinglike he will give it a shot.  Expect the team to be cautious with him.

Westbrook cleared to play

Update: The Philadelphia Daily News is reporting that Eagles running back Brian Westbrook passed his latest concussion test perfectly and will get some reps with Philadelphia's first-team offense in practice this week.

Fantasy Impact: The team is not going to rush him back into a large role with the season winding down, and them having already clinched a playoff birth. If Westbrook does play, it will be in a limited role, and will be mainly focused on getting him back into game shape so he is healthy to go for the playoffs.

Painter might see game action

Update: The Newark Star Ledger is reporting that Colts head coach Jim Caldwell hinted at the fact that backup quarterback Curtis Painter could see game action in Week 16.  During a conference call with the New York media on Wednesday, Caldwell said,   "Our No. 1 goal is to win," he said. "There may be some time where depending on how the game goes whether or not (backup QB Curtis Painter) plays. We haven't made any declaration on who is playing and how long."

Fantasy Impact: Peyton Manning is going to get the start, but how long he plays remains to be seen.  He most likely will see first quarter action and then head to the bench.  Fantasy owners should temper their expectations of Manning.

Update: The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the Lions have named Drew Staton the starting quarterback for the team's Week 16 match up against the 49ers.

Fantasy Impact: Matt Stafford is out with a dislocated left shoulder, and Daunte Culpepper has been extremely ineffective, so this move comes as no surprise.

There’s a Lot to Blame for Bears’ Disappointing Season

Email Post Email Post

It hasn’t got any better for the Bears this week. The Bears looked silly playing in Baltimore, where they were utterly embarrassed, losing 31-7.

The blame is been put on Jay Cutler, Lovie Smith, Jerry Angelo, and the offensive line, but who is more to blame? It’s a little bit of everyone. I think by now people have stopped considering that the Bears are anything close to a good team, and have realized that this team has many, many flaws.

These flaws start with bad picks in drafts after the Super Bowl year.

Favre moving forward

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to Pro Football Talk, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre says his situation with coach Brad Childress that stemmed from Childress' attempt to pull him in Week 15 is "resolved." "I'm here for one reason," Favre said. "That's to help this team win. I'm gonna do everything in my power to see that that happens."

Fantasy Impact: Favre admitted to experiencing "frustration" during Sunday night's loss to Carolina, but that's natural.  Look for Farve to come out and rebound.  The Vikings need to hold off the Eagles for the second seed in the NFC Playoffs.

Foster to get another look

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to the Houston Texans team website, head coach Gary Kubiak, said he is going to give running back Arian Foster another shot this week after he was benched last week after fumbling.

Fantasy Impact: The Houston running back situation has been inconsistent, and no one has stepped up to the challenge to take control of the No. 1 job.  Chris Brown and Ryan Moats should be back in the mix this weekend.

Lions waive Center

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL reporter Adam Caplan is reporting via Twitter that the Detroit Lions have waived center Melvin Fowler Jr.

Fantasy Impact: This is no impact as Fowler was third at best on the depth chart.  He was no impact, and may get another shot with another team, but is a fringe player at best.

Perry gets workout with Jets

Email Post Email Post

Update: NFL reporter Adam Caplan is reporting via Twitter that the New York Jets worked out free agent running back Chris Perry.

Fantasy Impact:  Perry has also had workouts with the Redskins and Chiefs this year, but has yet to be signed.  Thomas Jones is not banged up, and the Jets are out of the playoff hunt, so this workout seems odd.

Jackson looking to get 1,000 yards

Email Post Email Post

Update: Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson currently has 811 yards rushing this season, and according to the team's website, he is making a serious push to get to 1,000 yards this year.  "It would be a good way to finish the season," Jackson said. "With us not being able to go to the playoffs that's definitely something that's in striking distance."

Fantasy Impact: "If we can get him to 1,000 that would be great," guard Adam Levitre said of Jackson. "That's something we can look forward to working toward these last two games." The Bills have the Colts and Falcons left on their schedule, so Jackson certainly may be able to take advantage of the two team's who are most likely to sit starters.
