Jones will play for Seattle

Email Post Email Post

Update: The Tacoma News Tribune reports that Seahawks running back Julius Jones does appear to be in line to play this weekend against the Packers. Jones did not practice on Wednesday due to a rib injury.

Fantasy Impact: Jones is not a fantasy option as he will be up against a tough Packers defense, and will most likely take a back seat to Justin Forsett who looks to have taken over as the featured back in Seattle.

Niners to go with Alex Smith

Update: According to the San Francisco Chronicle, 49ers quarterback Alex Smith will play every snap of the final two weeks for the 49ers.

Fantasy Impact: Smith has the chance to show he can lead this 49ers team.  He has the Lions and Rams left on the schedule, and these next two games should decide his future with the organization.

NFL Week 16 Betting: Eagles-Broncos, Colts-Jets Spread and Pick

Email Post Email Post

Two of the most compelling matchups this weekend take place in Philadelphia and Indianapolis.

The Eagles welcome back Brian Westbrook after missing much of the season with concussion issues. They also welcome back Philly legend Brian Dawkins, who currently plays for the Denver Broncos. Denver tries to hang onto its wild card spot with a win.

In Indianapolis, the big question how much the Colts’ starters will play. With the desperate Jets in town, it is also reasonable to wonder what kind of numbers Peyton Manning can put up with Darrelle Revis and the Jets’ very good defense on the opposite side of the field.

We look at both games and give the you the spreads and picks.

Laugh of the Day for NBA Fans

Hilarious video for those of you who remember the 2009 NBA Playoffs commercials…LOL

Jets Prepare for Manning on Sunday

Email Post Email Post

Update:  Manish Mehta of The Star-Ledger reports the New York Jets will prepare as if Indianapolis Colts MVP QB Peyton Manning will play on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:  The Colts remain the only undefeated team in the league but will likely rest a number of their starters with the number 1 seed clinched.

Fantasy Owners want to know if Peyton will play, and how much, as almost all leagues are having their championship this week.  Unfortunately for fantasy owners, the Colts are keeping a closed lip about their plans.

Matt Ryan misses practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Matt Ryan (toe) did not practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact: Ryan was banged up after the game on Sunday so the Falcons planned to give him rest on Wednesday just like they did with running back Michael Turner.  Ryan should be a go for Week 16.

Turner misses practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Falcons running back Michael Turner (ankle) was held out of practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact: The Falcons believe that Turner is going to play in Week 16, and head coach Mike Smith claimed that Turner missing practice on Wednesday was planned. "He did go through the walk through this morning. We had anticipated that if he was going to play, that would be the course of action that we would take. It's not a setback. It was a course of action that we were going to take."

Coffee misses practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to Matt Maiocco on Twitter, 49ers backup running back Glen Coffee did not practice on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact: Coffee had to leave the team's Week 15 game against the Eagles with a hamstring injury.  Coffee has no fantasy value even if he is able to play.

Harvin back at practice

Email Post Email Post

Update: The Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting that Vikings wideout Percy Harvin was a full participant in practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact: Harvin was not listed on the team's injury report.  Fantasy owners should feel safe deploying Harvin for Week 16.

Gonzalez misses practice again

Email Post Email Post

Update: Indianapolis Colts wideout Anthony Gonzalez did not practice on Wednesday according to NFL reporter Adam Caplan.

Fantasy Impact: Gonzalez was trying to return to the field this week but now his return looks to be in question.

Buckhalter to face former team

Email Post Email Post

Update: The Denver Post is reporting that Broncos running back Correll Buckhalter is slated to return to action this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Our View: Buckhalter did not play in the Week 15 loss due to a sprained ankle, and his return should result in a reduced workload for rookie Knowshon Moreno.  Look for Buckhalter to be amped up to play against his former employer.

Jacobs tooth is hurting

Email Post Email Post

Update: According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has an infected tooth that he aggravated on Monday night against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Impact: Jacobs won't miss Sunday's game, but he has certainly not had the type of season that fantasy owners were hoping for.  He has yet to rush for a 100 yards in a game this season.
