Blackhawks’ Toews, Seabrook, Keith Make Canadian Olympic Team

After much anticipation, Chicago Blackhawk fans got what they were hoping to hear. Three Hawk players will be playing for Canada during the 2010 Olympic games in Vancouver next February.

Brent Seabrook just barely made the cut beating out Washington Capitals’ Mike Green. Seabrook grew up in the Vancouver area. Duncan Keith also made the defensemen team and him and Seabrook will be playing along Dan Boyle, Drew Doughty, Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, and Shea Weber,

Center Jonathan Toews will join four other centers: Sidney Crosby, Joe Thornton, Mike Richards, and Ryan Getzlaf. With that many centers on the team, I would have to think Toews might not play, or even dress, for every game. Other forwards on the team include Patrice Bergeron, Patrick Marleau, Rick Nash, Jermome Iglina, Corey Perry, Eric Staal, Brenden Morrow, and Danny Heatley.

It’s nice to see three of the Hawks playing for, arguably, the best Olympic hockey team out there. It’ll be a pleasure to watch them this upcoming February.
