Week 12 Sleepers and Waiver Wire Steals: Rock, Jermichael, and Chris Chambers

If you’re familiar with me, welcome back. If you’re new to the article, welcome!

Week 12 means you have two weeks to crap or get off the pot. The playoff push is here, and you need players. I have a few great pickups this week that WILL produce.

Let’s look at how I did last week on my Week 11 Sleepers and Waiver Wire Steals, then start naming names for Week 12.

  • Justin Forsett-RB-Seahawks / Last week Forsett had 89 total yards and a TD. Not bad for someone who was available in nearly every fantasy league!
  • Jamall Charles-RB-Chiefs / Another RB available in 60% of fantasy leagues last week, Charles checked in with a kickoff return for a TD, 66 total yards and a TD.
  • Jason Avant-WR-Eagles / Available in over 98% of leagues last week, Avant produced 4 grabs, 26 yards and most importantly, a TD.
  • Jason Snelling-RB-Falcons / A blockbuster steal from last week. Snelling had 89 total yards and 2 TD’s.

The above all produced, and were more than available last week. That is why this article and ProFootballinsight.net should be added to your computer as a favorite!

Vince Young and many of my sleepers from last week are still floating around in over half of all fantasy football leagues. so make sure you check those out. These guys will produce again this week and should be on your roster if available. Vince Young has been producing great #2 QB numbers and Arizona has been known to give it up to the pass!

Week 12 Sleepers and Waiver Wire Steals

Rock is my prize pick this week. He is available in over 99% of fantasy leagues, and has no choice but to be a stud this week. Starter Clinton Portis has already been ruled out for Week 12, and back up Ladell Betts is done for the year with both ACL and MCL injuries.

Cartwright last week produced 140 total yards against a good Dallas Defense. Rock is facing a similar defense this week in the Eagles. I expect the Redskins to continue to be a run first offense as their defense has been more than respective at keeping them in games.

Week 12 Sleeper and Waiver Steal: Jermichael Finley – TE – Packers

Finley, available in over 91% of fantasy leagues, had an enormous Week 6 against the Lions. On Turkey Day, Finley will get the chance to feast on the Lions again. Finley has been forgotten since his injury, and I am still weary of him being a sure fire hit, as James Jones has stolen his catches from the #3 WR spot. Finley did have 5 catches for 57 yards last week, and if your TE’s are not producing, Finley is a good bet!

Week 12 Sleeper and Waiver Steal: Chris Chambers-WR-Chiefs

Why is Chambers still available in over 50% of fantasy leagues? Chambers last 3 games equaled 249 yards and 2 TD’s. His chemistry will only grow with Matt Cassel, and the loss of Dwayne Bowe only forces Cassel to look Chambers way.

As a side note, I have thought long and hard about the offensive explosion out of the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions and have come to this conclusion: do not trust Brady Quinn or any of his current receiving cast until Quinn produces again like he did last week.

I am not impressed with his 300 yards and 4 TD’s against the Lions. If he can duplicate it against the Bengals, he may be onto becoming a viable fantasy pick up. I also learned that Matthew Stafford is going to be a force in the National Football League. His gritty performance and his #1 receiver Calvin Johnson make him a great draft pick in years to come, and in a full keeper league, someone who I would look to get on my roster, and keep there!
