—————

We are down to one week left in the 2009 college football regular season, which means there is only one last chance for a major upset that could produce a Cinderella BCS Championship Game.

Right now, the smart money would be on Texas facing the Florida-Alabama winner in the title game. Should Nebraska somehow find a way to clip Texas next week in the Big 12 Championship Game, 4th ranked TCU could squeeze its way into the title game…unless Cincinnati beats Pittsburgh and then vaults the Horned Frogs.

As much as I like Colt McCoy as a player, and as a good as a Texas v Florida/Alabama game would be, I want to see one of the “little guys” find its way into the title game.

So go Nebraska! Seriously, who wouldn’t want to see a giant wrench thrown into the BCS’ evil, diabolical plans?

And now, onto the college football tv schedule, point spreads, and picks for Week 14, aka Conference Championship Week.

No doubt, if Texas loses, it knocks out one of the 'rating-killers' as Texas will get a bid. My big prediction is the possibility of Penn State crawling in to play Pitt!

I think I prefer the BCS chaos the way it stands now. Boise St. and TCU both in the big money games would be a bit of a shock to the system. If Nebraska upsets Texas, it probably knocks Boise out of an at large bid. When in doubt, support the Broncos.
