Matt Ryan Injury Update: Out for Week 13 with Toe Injury

MSF has just learned, via Pro Football Talk and Jay Glazer, that Falcons QB Matt Ryan will miss the Falcons’ Week 13 showdown with the Atlanta Falcons.

The latest injury update on Ryan is that he will be consulting with a Charlotte-area specialist about his injured toe.

matt-ryan-injury-update, week 13 status - out with toe injuryVia PFT’s Matt Ryan injury update:

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that Ryan will miss Sunday’s game against Mike Vick and the Eagles due to a turf toe injury suffered against the Buccaneers.

Per Glazer, Ryan will consult with a Charlotte specialist regarding the extent of any ligament damage in his toe.

And J. Michael Moore also has a Matt Ryan injury update from Falcons head coach Mike Smith via Moore’s Twitter account:

Smith: “Matt (Ryan) has been ruled out of the ball game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.” Team will have update next week.

In informed you last night, in MSF’s Week 13 start em, sit em post, that Ryan was going to be a prime “sit” candidate for Week 13. Today’s report obviously confirms that you will want to remove Ryan from your lineup.

With the Falcons facing the Eagles’ pressure D and play-making secondary, I would not consider Chris Redman to be an adequate replacement. He put up decent numbers in Week 12 playing against Tampa Bay, but will be hard pressed to repeat that performance this week against a Philly D that will now have a week to prepare for him.
