Cavs Win, Welcome Back Delonte West
Cleveland Cavaliers fans were excited on this Halloween Night to see Delonte West walk out of the locker room and onto the court with his team — for the first time this season.
Fans, dressed up as Ghosts, Ghouls, Goblins, Mummies, Cartoon Characters, Cavs Players, and Witches, all cheered as he did his shoot-around.
Those cheers spoke volumes to the Cavalier Organization, to Delonte West, and to his teammates. The cheers let them all know that Cavs fans gladly welcome the troubled West back into the fold.
And, he seemed to be in good spirits, focused on basketball, and ready to play the game. Also, he helped extend the Cavs winning streak to two, and improve their overall record to 2-2, with a 90-79 win over the Bobcats.
West coming off the bench in his first appearance of the season, received thunderous applause and a standing ovation from the crowd. He had a very good game, playing 24 minutes, scoring 13 points, and getting a pair of rebounds and assists.
Mo Williams lead the team in scoring with 24 points, LeBron James had 14 points, Anthony Parker had 13 points, Varejao scored 6 points, Shaquille O’neal had 8 points, Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 10 points, and J.J. Hickson added 2 points.
